That's cool. Must be my region I'm in. I guess the Philadelphia/Baltimore area is a bit slower for them but maybe it will pick up. I hope Ford sellls millions of them, I just won't be one of those millions. My father got a 2014 CS because he couldn't stomach the 2015 rear end.

I have to wonder if the appeal of the car is regional. I know some people here in this area who like the new look but by and large most people just don't find it attractive. My buddy who recently bought a Challenger Scat Pack was very interested in the new Mustang until he saw it and then wanted nothing to do with it. So Dodge benefited.

Sales were up 32% in Feb., best since 2007 . . . so they seem to be selling. (Which seems to indicate people like them, or at least like them enough to purchase.)

Mustang sales up 32 percent, for best performance since 2007

Explorer sales were also up 32%. Best in 9 years. The Explorer isnt a new design so something else is driving up sales. Maybe people are starting to feel better about the economy and are finally turning in their 10+ year old cars??

If this is the case the mustang numbers should be even higher than 32%. (Better economy + New design)

Just a thought.

Why should Mustang sales be higher?

And why compare Explorer sales to Mustang sales? Are the same people buying both to provide quantitative data for comparison?

I agree about the economy, but if one were to believe the posts on this Forum about the 2015 Mustang styling, FMC shouldn't be selling a single one. (Much exaggeration, not to be taken seriously.)

And it's just one month (Feb.) . . . I think we will know more towards the end of 2015 if these positive sales can be sustained.

I like the new car (especially the interior), but my '13 is paid for and I don't want a car payment. Cooled seats in a convertible would be awesome. I'd love the adaptive cruise control as well. That said, if I was in the market, I'd wait until 2016 so most of the first year design issues could be fixed.

I doubt people would complain about the Fusion-like nose if the Mustang had hit the market first. Then the Fusion would have simply been copying the 'Stang.

Don't you mean the Aston-Martin (which Ford used to own) like nose that was copied first in the Fusion and now throughout most of the car line.

Why shouldnt they be?

Im not saying it should be up or down. I just looked at the link you provided and saw that other ford models were selling well. Of course the same folks are not buying both but something has Ford sales up across the board.

I think you have a very good point about waiting till the end of 2015 to really judge how well the new Mustang is selling.

And let's not forget that this is the first ever global Mustang. I saw a convertible EB in Germany 2 weeks ago. So for the sake of better looking future Mustangs I really hope it can do better than 32% increase over previous years. FMC is selling to the world not just the US and Canada markets.

So whom are most of these people your referring to who don't find the 2015 as attractive Rob ?

Seems to me that most people in these forums do find them as attractive..
As for my regional area is concerned, they seem to be selling quite well in the Pittsburgh area despite how horrible our winter was this season

Well glad to here the car sales are good over in the steel city. Back on the east coast of Pennsylvania, I don't see crap in the Philadelphia area. I did finally see a convertible 4 banger the other day.

And as a rule.. Cars such as the Mustang usually don't sell very well during the winter here, but a friend of mine who's a sales manager at one of my local Ford dealerships told me they've sold more 2015 models than they expected and far more than what they sold during the entire 2014 model year..

As a matter of fact, they still have a 2014 GT premium in race red w/glass roof that's still sitting on the lot after a year, plus it's marked down on top of that

That could be due that Philly usually has far worse snow accumulation than what we get here in the Pittsburgh/western, PA region..

I'm sure that once spring arrives, you'll see more 2015 models in the city of brotherly love before you know it

I really hope they do well, however I have no intentions of getting rid of my 2006 GT in order to get one either

I like the new look. Even more the longer it's been out. I respect that others don't like the new body style. For previous body style owners though, I believe it's mostly because theirs is not the latest and greatest anymore. I've seen it before when a new body style comes out.

And for those who say "get used to s197 tail lights"...that's a stupid statement. Let's say in a straight line the 11-14's are faster, stock for stock. It's so minimal that it's down to the drivers, so it's a moot point in my eyes. Besides, s550 owners can say "well, my internals are more stout, so I can throw more boost at it than you can". Or, "my interior is 10 times better than your s197 interior", etc. There's so many more of those statements you could make about the s550. Anyway...

In reality your post is actually referring to yourself, as your own words direct themselves right back at you through first hand knowledge and personal experience..

Therefore when you say that you've seen it before, what you actually mean is that it's really your own personal opinion rather than somebody else's

And just for the record, perhaps your comments apply to some other previous body style owners such as yourself, however they do not apply to this previous body style owner and my reasons are this..

First of all, I've submitted nothing but positive feedback in these threads about the 2015 S550 from the very beginning..

Second, If I were so hung up about not having the latest and greatest anymore like all those previous body style owners in which you refer to in your post, I would had upgraded from my current 06 GT and got into a 5.0 Coyote in 2011 as soon as they became available..

But I didn't, as I've been more than satisfied with what I have and although I happen to like the new S550 Mustang.. I have no intentions of getting rid of my S197 GT just so I can say and brag that I have the latest and greatest, as I honestly could care less what other people happen to think let alone care about having to impress anybody..

The bottom line is this.. I may not have the latest and greatest, but I have the Mustang I've always wanted and have been just as satisfied as I was over 10 years ago when I got my first S197.. And the best part is this, It's mine and I don't have any car payments to worry about..

Well the same can be said for the S550's suspension over the S197 being so far superior along with the interior.. It's also so minimal and such a stupid statement which is just another fine example of saying I have the latest and the greatest, therefore it works both ways
