Those of you who dislike/hate the 2015

2015 Mustang

This is the inspiration for the rear end of the 2015 Mustang.
I was really excited when I heard they were coming out with the biscuits. Rumors were that they were lighter, 'cause Ford was cutting the lard out.
Then I saw renderings. I decided right then I was buying cornbread while I still could. Cornbread looks more aggressive, more retro - you know like Grandma used to make.
Also, biscuits look like Fusions.

I must have missed it. Does the S550 come with free biscuits?
I don't remember the exact article or which model Porsche, but I do remember reading Ford benchmarking a certain model Porsche from a performance standpoint.

And this is why I'm a big fan of the S550. I still see a mustang, but yet it has some hint of exotic. It's like the best of both worlds. Sorry for speaking such language in this thread :-)

I think that if the angle of the trunk lid were to continue along the same angle forward of this line, the trunk lid would appear more solid and rear end as a whole more muscular. I don't think it would affect the overall height of the rear since it rises back into a pseudo-spoiler at the tail edge. The added height of the deck by following the shallower angle would simply "fill in" the profile and remove that droopy bum effect.
The convertible is much better. The trunk lid is relatively flat from the rear window to the rear edge. The side profile of the haunches is the dominant line on the convertible and it doesn't suffer from the saggy effect of the coupe's droopy trunk. You can see that effect in this photo.

It's not that I am an unabashed hater. I've spent some time analyzing why I don't care for the design. This is one aspect of the rear end I've identified on the coupe that is better on the convertible. I don't think there is any fix to the front end without eliminating the trapezoidal corporate grill. At the very least, the lower front valance should not carry on, or complete the trapezoidal shape. It's too much. The lower valance should break up that shape, solidify the lower front area and give a heavier, muscular look. As it stands, the matched set of grill and lower valance give the car a "gaping maw" look that starts out with an awkward shape to begin with. I don't know how trapezoids ever become an acceptable shape for grill openings but that needs to stop.
The GT350 fixed a lot of the front end issues, with a lower, flatter, less bulbous hood, and prominent fangs that counter the trapezoidal shape. The wider front fenders also give a more aggressive stance. Even the GT350 would gain if they gave up the trapezoidal shape altogether but here we are.

Perhaps I can explain what I don't like. In a whole I don't like anything about the rear end. I feel its very soft looking and has no aggressive look to it. The rear end slopes downward and is lower than the front of the car. The cars rear end is slanted lower and works its way higher as you make your way to the hood. That lower rear end to me looks as if its submissive and weak.
Unlike the 2010-14 models, my 2011's rear end is a bit higher and moves downwards as you make your way to the front. This in the complete opposite of the 2015. The 10-14 models have the a$$ end upwards a bit and its a stance of dominance and confidence. The complete opposite of the 2015. The 2015 is very submissive looking and with the rear end sloping lower, its as if a dog is tucking their tail in between its legs.
The S197 has a stance as if it was going to pounce its prey. The S550 looks like it is the prey and not the preditior like the S197.

I don't like the slant going back to the trunk area. The tail lights itself are ugly. It amazes me how Ford can produce by far the most beautiful LED tailllights and shape with the 2013-14 models and then leave that modern LED technology and style.
The entire shape of the rear end is weak and not an ounze of American Muscle put into it. Just look at the rear profiles and you can see how the S197 sits a bit higher in the rear end. Look at the S550 and the rear end slopes lower
