Ford to discontinue V8

Trust me Patrick ! You would've enjoyed the muscle car era through out the early and mid 1970's.. If only there were a way to be able to go back in time and relive all those experiences from back then ? I would do so without hesitation, and that also includes reliving all those great memories from all those wild and crazy women I encountered from back then as well

Yeah this is what I meant. The mid 60s and early 70s were such a simpler time. Of course there were other, bigger issues, but for the most part things were a lot less complicated (literally and figuratively). There was love for country (again for the most part, Vietnam war notwithstanding). People had pride in themselves and the things they worked for. Communication was deliberate and calculated. I'm rambling now, but even when I was a kid, I felt I was born in the wrong era...

I know what you mean. I grew up in the 80's(blah) but it was ok when I was that young. My extent of cutting up was in the 90's. The classics were scarce even though I bought a 68 stang in 92. But the Fox stangs and F-bodies were everywhere. Lots of low rider mini trucks and 4WD's. Cars weren't as cool but we made them work. Lol. After high school I bought a 89 TA. Pulled more tail in that car but couldn't beat the Fox stangs in a race. Lol

Charlie ! You do realize that I was just being sarcastic right ? Because hell no, I would never drop a GM engine in a Mustang nor any other Ford for that matter as that would be committing pure sacrilege..
If those rumors about Ford discontinuing V8 production in 2017 become a reality ? I'll either go strictly aftermarket or locate a Ford V8 crate engine somehow before ever dropping a GM engine in my car

If you are shopping for a V8 for a project, you might try dropping one of these in there...

(If you can find a hammer to customize the shock tower a smidgen.)

I sometimes remember the 60's (flashbacks!) Fast cars, fast girls! But as the 70's ushered in, for the only time in my life I was hoping that I wouldn't win the lottery! I remember the envelope from the Selective Service congratulating me on my 18th birthday, and asking me to come down to the local draft board to see if I had won an all expense paid trip to beautiful, exotic Southeast Asia!

My first car was a 1979 AMC Jeep Wagoneer
Loved that car, it taught me what burning oil and tramsission fluid smelled like.
I also had to hold the wiper switch down to get the wiper blades going.
It had one setting on the AC. Artic Blast.
A hole had rusted through the foor behind the passengers seat. I called it my bottomless garbage can.
I miss that car.
