A couple of "evolved" renders. Just playing with how the "C" scoop could look. I also think we could see a full fastback with a small trunk opening.

If you can get the front fender up a little taller, that would maybe help a little....

I think a lot of it is that the derierres of the early Stangs were far more cleanly styled as compared to the very busy, fussy, droopy and voluminous appearance of some later Mustangs, particularly the lumpy, bumpy 2010+. Compare that sagging full-baby's-diaper with the clean, pert and upswept effect of those early Stangs.

So yes, the measured rear overhang distances might be the same, but, the devil being in the details, the overall resultant visual effects are vastly difference.

I think you hit the nail right on the head. It's not he technical measurements as much as the visual effect the design portrays. I am not a fan of big, tall or bulky rear ends. I prefer a leaner look.

Agreed 100%

I feel that, aesthetically, the rear has always been the weak point of the S197s. Just too big and chunky looking. The refresh tried to address it but just wound up looking kinda weird and lumpy.

I would hope the S550's rear has a nice lean, taper to it but I'm not so sure it will.

I found Radovan Varicaks latest rendering close to the real thing. Not sure wether it was ON here already, but I modified it a bit for a night scene.

So far from what we've seen that doesn't look like the real thing. Different fascia, hood and light placement

Exactly. We know what the front is going to look like minus small details and that isn't close.

I'd like to see more renderings of what we've seen. Too bad I don't have the skills to make good renders like some of you.
