This isn't a 2 seater, Ford is going to have to fit a Fairly Useable Rear Seat, a Decent size Trunk, a Decent size Gas tank and a Spare Tire back there. The Sides of the rear end are going to be radiused/angled probably even more than the 10-14's to help hide the overhang, but I don't think it's that bad of an overhang. As for it being a Short Hood Long Deck, I don't See what You're Seeing. The Hood is quite long and you can't get much shorter of a deck with that Low Sleek Fastback Profile.

I hope you're right man because I love what you've done there. I would be very happy if that is the new Mustang.

One thing I really want to see is a C-Scoop. This is an iconic Mustang style cue. It need not be a full size scallop or scoop as it was proven in 69 and again on 93.5 thru 98.

a C- scoop or scallop of some sort I feel is a major part of making it mustang.

I think it's a bad overhang in comparison to the front. The car is just out of proportion. I understand that it's technically a "long hood" and "short deck" however the term long hood -short deck" IMO is more that just top measurements. If you look a the amount of real estate from the wheel centers forward and back you will see what I mean. In reality the current S197 isn't much better but something about this new design seems to exaggerate it.

I'll need to see that car in person before forming any real opinions of course. I just hope it turns out a little different.

The Rear Overhang is no different than All of the Classic Mustangs. Actually their Rear Overhang was even Longer. A Long Hood, Short Deck means just that. It means the Hood is Long and the actual Trunk, or Rear Deck is Shorter than the Hood. It has nothing to do with the distance from the wheel center to the ends of the car.

TampaBear67 I think you nailed it! From front to rear, that's seems very logical based on what we can clearly see in the camouflaged pics.

Thanks Patio218, I hope I'm right. I have been designing cars as amateur designer for 30 years and always try to be realistic about my expectarions. I think about practicality and whether it is production feasible when I design a car. I think given what we've seen and speculating what's under the camouflage I'm pretty close too. I would like to be proven wrong just for sheer excitement of something fresh and new that I haven't thought of, and probaly will be surprised by lots of details like the tail lights.i just love playing the guessing game and sharing my design ideas with others to get their opinions.

TampaBear that is a sweet side profile! Not exactly what I originally envisioned but much mor Mustang cues in there. I think this is very close. I hope those fenders flare out as much as I hope and this could be one very sweet Mustang.

Oooooooooooo, I like the look of the front with the fogs IN the grill much better than in the lower fascia. Speaking of that area, the only negative I see in your image is that the openings on either side of the lower fascia are too big. JMHO, though.

Like I said, I understand what long hood short deck means. There's just something about the proportions that exaggerate the longer rear overhang and short front overhang. I'm not a fan so far but again, I'll need to see it in person with color etc to really get a better feel for it.
