The dealer called me today and they said that my car is scheduled to be built on 5/5! Cinco De Mayo! I imagine to build it, it takes all of a couple of hours. How many days after the build should it take to get to me? I'm hoping I have it by the end of May.

Keep typing in the VIN several times and submitting. Mine wouldn't go through for the first 4-5 times then it worked. Cotus website is a little weird.

Know how you feel man. Ordered mine 12/26 built 2/27 and didn't take delivery till 4\16. Was in awaiting shipment from 2/27 till 4\3 . Made the appropriate phone calls , received a case number then investigation took place. Car was originally supposed to be on a rail line 3/10, never was and forgot about. Once located immediately thrown on rail. Stuff happens no ones to blame but human error. Good luck man

 

I've been told it's a railcar shortage but there are mustang's built after mine being shipped rail that have already gotten to their dealers so it's hard to believe. My dealer said I still have an EDD of 4/23 when the last one I saw before it disappeared was 4/26. Maybe COTUS is wrong and ford service is reading directly from there. Who knows. If it shows up this week, it'll be a welcomed surprise.

 

So mine changed today from "in production" to "awaiting shipment" A frind of mine who works at the Flat Rock plants says that my car is still being built. He says it's still in "stamping" and could take a few days to be completed. My point is, don't fully believe that website. You may think your car is "awaiting shipment" but it might not even been built yet.

 

I have confirmation from ford and my dealer that it was released from the plant on 3/31. I just don't have any updates since then.

 

I feel your pain! Ordered GT premium convertible 2/3. Built 3/30. Supposedly released from plant 4/8. A whole bunch of nothing since. So frustrating!!!

 

Gotcha! I know waiting sucks. Especially when it's sooo close!! Personally I'm in no hurry, I have a paid up lease with a turn in date of July 3.

My comment wasn't directed at you at all, I've just read a lot here from lots of people and also learned alot as this is the first car I've ordered ever. In talking with my buddy I've learned that the building process is a lot different then I thought

 

Seems like everyone around the end of the march month is having trouble getting their car.

Build date 3/30. Released from plant 4/13. EDD was 4/13 before getting switched to TBD...and been awaiting shipment ever since.

Guy that ordered his car after mine, is driving around the city with his already. Got the whole "It took only 6 weeks", while I am still waiting on mine.

Starting to get aggravated....

 

Where are you? I can see the Flat Rock plant almost from my house and my dealer is right across the street from it. I'm sure that location can speed up or slow down the delivery of your car.

 

I am located in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. About 5-6 hours north of flatrock.

From other mustang owners around here, it takes about 1 day to ship the car from flatrock to us.

 

If you check out the 3/30 build week thread on mustang6g, more than half the members there have gotten their cars or are in transit. There's only a few of us who are still in limbo. It's extremely frustrating especially since I ordered mine in February to have it for the biggest car meet of the year in new orleans, which is this Sunday.

Funny thing is, the car won't go straight from Flat Rock to you, goes to a holding lot first. And according to my dealer, some cars go to the holding lot (in Toledo) and then to the dealer in Flat Rock, which makes no sense at all. Just makes things take longer IMO

 

2/6 Placed order with dealer
2/9 Order was placed with Ford
2/19 After Deysha's help I was able to get the order number and found the order was wrong.
2/20 Had order fixed.
3/12 VIN showed up
3/17 Estimated Delivery Date of 4/20
3/24 In Production. EDD still 4/20.
3/25 Window Sticker showed up. Deysha was dead on.
3/31 Production complete. Awaiting shipment.
4/02 EDD moved to 4/29 with 26 days left.
4/03 EDD gone. Still Awaiting shipment.
4/07 In Transit with EDD of 4/24.
4/17 Car arrived at rail yard. EDD moved to 4/21.
4/20 Salesman says Ford is holding several Mustangs at rail yard, mine included.

Very sad. Hoping it gets released soon.

 

Deysha did my Mustang get lost? I know the date is just an estimate but last we spoke my car had arrived and was waiting to be delivered to the dealership on 4/20 I just called them today and they still do not have it and do not know when they will receive it. My salesman is on vacation so I'm not getting much help there.
