I don't know about you, BigEasy, but that reply doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in me. Why is it so hard to just get an explanation as to why people who have ordered cars after ours are already delivered?!?!?!? Why the big secret?!? I mean, it seems logical to me that you order it, it gets built, it gets sent--first in; first out. Am I missing something?

Most likely your car delivery is delayey because a part is missing/damaged/defective and Ford is waiting for it's replacement.

 

Thank you, mustm26! That's my assumption. Just worries me that it's taken so long. Hope I'm not getting a lemon.

I have had 6 different mustangs over the years including a a 79 Capri. .. (mustang in disguise) . Do not worry Ford puts out a superb automobile. That's why I am waiting on this one. Just stay in touch with Deysha and enjoy the ride when it comes In. I sure will....

 

This is my second mustang. Turned in my 2012 on 3/30, thinking my new one would be in shortly thereafter. Had I known it would take this long, I would have extended my lease. I think that's why I'm so anxious. I miss my mustang! I went to the dealer last week to start the paperwork so when it came in, there wouldn't be any further delays. I saw my baby sitting on the lot looking all pretty. Tried to get them to give it back until mine came in, but they weren't having it. Lol. Thought it was worth a shot. Driving a Rogue right now and it doesn't even come close. As the song goes ... "The waiting is the hardest part." Thank you, again, for your words of encouragement. I appreciate it. And yes, it will be worth the wait!!!

 

Someone over on 6g reported his dealer talking about a plant hold of roughly 900 mustangs, is that the same hold our "awaiting shipment" crew is stuck within?

 

^ Welcome to first year problems. ^ You have cars with panel fit problems, cars being sent missing parts and others that parts were forgot.

 

Signs seem to be pointing toward it being an issue with the premium package front seats, but its a small sample size.

Guy who ordered after me at my dealer ordered an identical car; Magnetic, PP, Premium... but he ordered recaros. I did not. He has his car, I do not.

 

I ordered a base gt PP and I still don't have mine. Non-recaro.

 

Base GT PP convertible deep impact blue, non-recaro. BigEasy, ours were built and released same time. I don't have mine either. If it's a seat issue, why can't they just say that. Totally fed up with dealer. They have no clue, nor the wherewithal to get any answers.

 

Well, that shoots my theory out of the water doesn't it? ><

At any rate, I'm leaving the state to run training classes for a new startup on the west coast soon and will be gone for a while... emailed my salesman and told him that if it doesn't arrive soon I am going to have to step out of the deal.

The delay could be the strut tower brace that is a part of the Performance Package option. I have noticed in the last week or two the part is out of stock at CJ Pony Parts.
Maybe my theory for the delay in shipping is correct.

 

Can't be, my dealer also has an ecoboost non-PP stuck at the plant alongside mine, both built the same day.

 

For anyone feeling the way I did about not knowing what was wrong with my car and why there is a massive delay. I talked to a buddy that works at the plant up here in Canada.

He assured me mechanically the car will be perfect, if something was wrong with a part it will completely be replaced with a "NEW" part, not ever rebuilt. The car I/we will be getting will be new and perfect.

This gave me some confidence that the car will be mechanically sound, and I don't have to stress about getting a possibly rebuilt transmission or engine. Now i just need some confidence that I will be getting the car this week or next...so i can enjoy this nice weather, while its here.
