Placed the order for my 50th Birthday Present
Last Saturday I placed the order for my new Mustang
Ecoboost Premium Convertible
Manual Transmission
Magnetic with Black Leather seats
200A Package
Went for the spare tire
Now the wait begins. It should arrive just in time for spring.
How have you all been getting updates? Dealership, Ford????

You need your order number and dealer number. You can also PM Deysha (the Ford Service person posting repeatedly in this thread) with your order number and dealer's name and she'll get you going.
Good choice of color!

Probably not. Ford screwed up the GT's built from 2/2 to 2/9 so they've been holding them for the last 2 weeks. Now they're saying it could be another 3 weeks before they're all fixed and released. What's even worse is they won't tell us what's wrong. They are a lot of VERY ANGRY people out there waiting for their cars.

It was pretty obvious that date wasn't going to happen. I'm 3 days out from my date. It's not going to get to Texas in 3 days. I don't care. I want perfection. They can crush the car and start over. I do not want even minor problems. I've gone through this kind of thing before. I ordered theater seating for my living room when I moved. I didn't even bring my couch. It was lost for a month and then found damaged. They had to put another order together and ship which took more time. We had no couch in the living room for over two months. Didn't care. I wanted it right, and now that wait is a distant memory.
I want my car to be right. I don't have time to deal with issues. I'll wait.

That's a whole other problem. Since they won't tell us what they messed up we can't check it when we finally get our cars. With all the QC issues there have been with the 2015 it's hard to trust they'll get it right.

Issues with production are normal ... especially for a new model year design. In 2010, I ordered my 2011 V6 MCA and it seemed to be taking forever to get the car and it was mysteriously sitting at "Ramp 51" at the Flatrock Assembly plant with no other details.
Eventually the car was released and I took delivery in June of 2010. The car was beautiful and I was happy. Along the way, however, I had the "engine tick" fixed and a clutch replaced (thank you, Ford) and a flaky A/C system they've never diagnosed properly. The paint chipped/flaked off the leading edge of the hood but was also fixed under warranty. Those were all pretty much in the first two years of ownership. Nearly 5 years later and 45k miles (short commute, multiple cars), the car is awesome. But after driving the new GT, the new Mustang is better in every way!
The threads back then about the delays and the concern and anger are a lot like this one. We had people tracking by VIN and checking with the railroad shipper. It was fun but anxious at the same time.
Now I'm looking at a 2015 GT Premium and wondering if maybe I should just hold off for a bit for the issues to be worked out. I bought an extended warranty for my 2011 but haven't needed the extended part.
What bugs me about the current marketing is Ford seems to be pushing the Ecoboost hard while kind of ignoring the V6. The V6 HP rating is with regular fuel and the EB HP rating is with 93 octane. Big difference in price while MPG is pretty close to the same. I skipped the EB on my 2012 F150 because of the unnecessary complexity and the issues some F150 owners were having in wet/humid climates. I don't think the EB cars were having the same issues, however.
I think there will ultimately be many happy Mustang owners no matter what version they purchase but I just can't convince myself that the Mustang should have a 4 cylinder. But I'm over 40 and that's just how we roll.
My build target is a 2015 GT Premium in Ruby Red with Nav and ceramic colored leather seating. And that's it. No PP. No high-tech that's not already included. My 2011 V6 was loaded and stickered just over $30k. It's probably worth about $16k now -- not bad but it'd probably be worth close to that without all the options.

just ordered mine on 2-2-15
Waiting game for me as well, the dealer says that it hasn't even been picked up for scheduling yet. Is there really that many orders being placed for these cars? Mines a gt premium deep impact blue 6 speed with saddle leather and track pack.

Where's my car ?
Well I guess I'm not going to get my car on the ETA date either. Date is 2/26, ordered on 12/17, built week of 2/5. No one can tell me why it's still awaiting shipment. I guess it hasn't been that long but I can't stand not knowing what's goin on!!
