I think they mean 3.7 v6 and 5.0 v8..
The 2.0 liter EcoBoost engine which will find its way under the hood of the future Mustang generation is the same one currently used by Ford on the Focus ST, which is producing 250 horsepower.
Those of you who are planning to buy the future Ford Mustang and aren’t too excited about the four-banger, should know that the carmaker won’t drop the 3.5 liter V6 or the 5.0 liter V6. The new Ford Mustang will be officially presented to the public at the 2014 New York Auto Show.

The fact that the North American based automaker Ford is currently working on the next generation of the Mustang is no surprise for anyone, but what comes as a shock is that the future muscle car won’t get a V8 under its hood or even a V6, because the company has announced that a four-cylinder 2.0 liter EcoBoost unit will power the vehicle.
According to the car manufacturer, the 2015 Ford Mustang will use a four-cylinder 2.0 liter EcoBoost engine in order to improve the fuel consumption of the muscle car. I haven't posted in forever but I've been a member for years...I am actually looking forward to a new direction, not that I don't like the old....hell I was was on pins and needles when the 05 came out...but these are different times and the new mustang need to be competitive...I'm very excited to see where this leads.

Let's face it. Ford will never make 100% mustang fans happy on this redesign. Ford will loose some Mustang customers after this redesign and Ford will gain some new buyers. Ford has to keep with the times and broaden there customer buyer basis. I suspect it will have a euro look but Mustang soul and semi American Muscle feel. The stang needs a new fresh look like GM did for the Camaro in order to take back lead sales on the pony car war.
