Hey, don't spoil it!

After looking at what it costs for current parts, I'm thinking things won't change much. The '13 rear lamps are definitely on my list of things I might swap over...if the price is right.

It may even go back further, and be tied into the programming of the PCM. Taillamps are not cheap either, and if it requires a bumper change, that will probably put it at $1000+ to procure everything. Most people won't swap all that for a minor change.
I do realize the hight cost but it never stopped the numerous people that have already made major pricey cosmetic and functional changes to their Mustangs. Consider such expensive and numerous OE or aftermarket front fascia and grille conversions, HID headlamp conversions, taillamp swaps, various style hood conversions... etc.

The aftermarket and adventurous modifiers will always try to find ways to convert things and make them adaptable if possible...

You can probably change your taillamps to the 2013 style without changing the bumper cover and enjoy the crooked gap...

Which reminds me... sales of cheap toothbrushes to clean the crooked gap will increase...

I wouldn't have a problem with the HIDs if they didn't make the car look "cross-eyed"...

+1

The best thing would be the HID in the halogen housing where it's on the outside and the marker is on the inside. Looks so much better. Come on Ford.

what i like best about HID's is when on a dark cold night you have a truck with them following right behind you...or even better across from you at a stop light!

Mystified how anyone couldn't see the headlights as the "eyes" of a car, but whatever...

I think people should wait to see the unveiling before forming opinions

Why? We can see clearly the headlamps that are being used in the spy pics as well as the fact the nose and hood are shaped virtually identical to the current GT500 with the exception to lower fascia details that really do not sway opinion one way or another. Seeing these things later on a car without camo isn't going to make a difference when we have seen these things on the current car and already have opinions about them. Now the taillamps are about the only thing that I have to reserve complete opinion on since they have not been exposed entirely yet...

Btw, the 2013 Flex has been revealed. I wouldn't be surprised if we see the 2013 Mustang sometime this week.....official pics.

I was thinking the same thing! Probably soon, huh?

By the way, I do have HIDs on my GT, but not by choice...
In Japan there is no option for halogens. The HIDs are going on me, but I think they look like terminator eyes.
Hahaha.
