The module should take care of it. I just picked up a module, and I will now be buying the harness.
I will sell the 2010 nav harness I currently have.

The part number for the harness from a 2010 to a 2012 is different. But then Ford changed teh harness part number 3 times for a nav car for 2012, so maybe it is just that the harness still serves all the same functions in the same way, but way it is put together has changed?
All I know is that I don't want to take apart my dash and put in the wrong harness.
I will need to confirm that the harnesses are diferent before I spend the $300 on a harness.
So far I have spend $675 on all the parts and all that is left is the harness.

OK, here's the parts list:
Harness - AR3T 14401 KA (2010)
Harness - CR3Z 14401 KA (2012)
screen - AR3T 10F839 AC (2010)
screen - BR3T 10F839 AC (2012)
faceplate/bezel - AR3T 18A802 HB (2010 heated seats)
faceplate/bezel - BR3T 18A802 AD (2012 no heated seats)
Nav ACM - CR3T 19C156 AA (2012)
Nav ACM - AR3T 19C156 DB (2010)
heater control module - CR3Z 19980 B (2012)
amp - DR3Z 18B849 A (2010)
You cannot get the nav ACM from the dealer. They won't sell it. You'll have to get it from the wreckers.

RF22 PMed this to me. With his permission, I'm sharing it.
Hi Jim,
Thanks for your response and I saw your post on the thread. I work for a Tier 1 supplier to Ford. We make seats. I saw the part numbers you listed. I release all of our CAD models and changes. I am very familar with parts numbers as that's what I do.
For example:
AR3T 14401 KA is the harness for 2010. CR3Z 14401 KA is the harness for 2012. A=2010, B=2011, and so on. Here's the thing, if the part number changed from an A level to a C level, you're best getting the C level harness as there was most surely a change made to the harness. However, sometimes a change will be minor and may have no effect on it's fucntionality.
The other parts and part numbers you listed may not have changed from an A level to a C level (2010 to 2012). For example, the screen may have the same number for a 2012 model if the same screen is used.
You may have already know this but I just wanted to share something lol...

That part numbering information is correct but not complete. Sometimes parts are improved or slightly modified but still compatible across model years. In that case, the old number will be set to supersede to the new number and the old number will become unavailable when existing stock is depleted. On the other hand, sometimes the new number represents a design change that makes the new part incompatible with the original. In that case, both the old and new parts will continue to be available.
In general, if you know a part number supersedes to a newer number, try to get the newer part. Otherwise, get the part that is listed for your model to ensure compatibility. When buying all of the parts for a system like this, try to get all parts for the same model to ensure they will work together (I.e. get all 2010 parts or all 2012 parts)

I'm not ripping out my dash right away for this, so here's what I will do.
I've got the 2010 harness. I also have the 2012 wiring diagram manual. I will check to see if the pins in each plug in the harness match what the 2012 book says should be there. If it matches, then I would be pretty confident that it would work.
Might save me $300 for a new harness.

After going through the plugs, Most of the plugs match up with what the 2012 diagrams say should be there. On a couple of plugs, though, there were some wires that were not there on the 2012, or there were some wires missing. The diagrams would not identify what they were supposed to be, though. It would probably work fine, but since I can't identify what those wires should be, I'm not ripping out my dash to fins out it doesn't work.
All the wires that should be there for the audio/nav equipment is there, though.
I think I'll play it safe and get the harness for my car. $300 - yippee ... I'll sell the harness I have for a 2010 car to subsidize the cost. I'll put it on ebay for $150 and see what happens.

Looks like they dropped their price on this. Still a bit high. You'd still need the harness and a couple of other things if you got this. The Shelby harness will not work from the car they took this from, though, unless you have a Shelby yourself. Also, the start up screen would be of a snake.
My last part will be here in a couple of weeks.

Thanks. I like the fact that your car is manual. I spent months looking for a candy red glass roof car and found only 1 on the other side of the country. But a manual car? Man, they are hard to find! Let alone a candy red glass roof manual with nav. It would be easier to win the lotto.
So here I am trying to put in the options I want after the fact. Just like I had to do in my 05.

Rear View Camera
Hey Jim,
Do you plan on installing the factory rear view camera option or an after market one? I would think the factory camera would be a waste since you'd have to buy a new spoiler and I think you might have to drill through the trunk to wire it but I'm not sure about that. If I get around to this, I may just get an after market camera like the lockpic rear view camera.

My intention is to get the rear camera as well, but that can wait. If I can get a used spoiler (which seems tough), I'll go that way. I'd rather a flush camera than one sticking out from the license plate area.
We'll see.
Cheers
