Anyway you can just order a '13? You will be much better off looking for one w/ OEM Nav already installed - both in time and investment.

Before someone else comes on here and says buy a 2013, please read my previous post:

How is spending an extra $15 000 an option?

Sorry if I come off short, but I getting asked the same question a little too often. I cannot afford $46 000, but I can afford $31 000. A couple thousand extra for a nav on top of that is still well under the price of a new car.

I'm not a newb to retrofitting or customizing, as KC can attest to.

what do you you want for options? a gt premium with glass roof nav and comfort should be around 40000 msrp. less rebates and dealer discount right??. good luck with what ever you buy just putting my 2 cents in.

I will have some info in the next week. We'll see.

I like doing this stuff anyways. Just like all the retrofitting I did on my 2005. Ambient lighting was the most interesting to retrofit, followed by the power passenger seat and the heated seats.

In the mean time, I'll still look for the right car to buy.

You can always buy a fully loaded V6 2013 to keep the cost down. Since I wanted alot of features I opted for this. i know its no 5.0 but I can live with that for now.

Ur better off getting a used 11-12. Im so glad I was patient. I got just what I wanted. And now that I see the 13s Im even more glad...I hate that the hood is open and dirt and water get in. The rar bumper isnt good looking at all. Only thing I wish I had was rear tail lights. Well thats just IMO. Be patient and you will sve at least $10000

Friend of mine just got a 2013. He installed an Airaid CAI. The vent is directly over the filter. He can't drive in rain now and puts a bag over the air filter when he washes the car. I told him to go find a V6 owner to swap hood with.

I think a replacement version of the hood vents would be a popular aftermarket accessory.

After looking at the wiring diagrams and checking the part numbers, I have some news here for everyone.

The main wiring harness is differnt
Smart Junction box is the same
APIM (SYNC) is different
amps are different
A/C and heating unit are different (dual climate vs single)

There is no way to do this, as others had already figured. I just had to confirm this for myself.

I seen a navi bezel and a screen on ebay. But now hu box. Not sure if they use the same shaker box. Or you can go the route I went and put a tablet in. I can make modify your bezel to work with most the radio and all the HVAC controls.

I saw that too, but as I listed in the previous post, we don't just need the ACM, FDIM and FCIM, but also the amps, A/C Heating unit, main wiring harness and the Sync module.

That's way too much.

Pics?

And what about sync. Is that lost? Ipod/Iphone playability? I'm interested.

You should keep sync. You won't be removing any components.

I have bought my car.

Should be here in a week or so. It is the same car I provided a link to earlier. Candy Red metallic with the glass roof. Automatic and no nav.

I will be using an aftermarket solution, but integrating the tablet that crazietj does, or the Alpine 8" screen and the bexel they provide are the top contenders.

Now I will retire my 2005 convertible (150 000 kms on it) to pure hobby car, and this new one is my daily transport.

Cheers

Anybody know who might have bought this thing?

Just curious as to what kind of luck he'll have and whether he knows what he's getting himself into.
