Are you doing the cluster swap?
In short, it allows you to use Ford's Integrated Diagnostic System. This is the exact same software the your typical Ford dealer uses to diagnose issues, and do PATS operations. Pretty much, you can diagnose and fix your own car after your warranty is up. No more trips to the stealership.
The J2534 part of it allow folks (like me) to write software against the VCM in a generic way. I'm working on a short little app to share with ever that will pull critical data etc. (Dhmines has been beta testing alpha builds)
One thing that pisses me off about Ford is how they have locked us out of our own cars. I'm going to make it my job to reverse engineer every piece and put the power back in the peoples hands. (OpenXC is a joke)

If you buy a clone VCM, then you can do PATS yourself. Its only like $70 more than what the dealer charges. I would recommend going this route.
You would have to send it off to have the mileage changed. Or find where its stored in flash/eeprom and change it yourself.

As of now yes, you will need a "Black Box" to make the digital gauges work. However, I'm working on this, but do not have a ETA.

IDS requires Windows - I think preferably XP but I have ready Windows 7 should be OK.
I am using VMWARE on my MacBook Air with a Windows XP Image. I already had this long before I thought of using IDS so it was nothing extra for me to purchase or setup.
So you need to either purchase a Windows Laptop or purchase VMWare Fusion for Mac. Then you will need to install either Windows XP or Windows 7 and your good to go.

Another mission accomplished. I decided to try a 2014 VIN that had a SHAKER PRO. Figured that AS-BUILT should support both SUB outs in the back of the ACM. Apparently when a car has a reverse sensor the SUB outs are swapped in the wiring harness.
So the standard SHAKER AS-BUILT must have been turning on the SUB output in the wrong connector. By using an AS-BUILT that has Front and Rear Subs ... all of the SUB connectors are active. I also did a ACM module replacement using the same VIN as the AS-BUILT.

Considering you got it to work, you were right.
Also, I think I remember that you stated that you had the option of turning the parking aid on or off on the cluster? I don't have that.

You guys are awesome. Im anxiously waiting for the end summary for getting this to work from start to finish.
I already have a 2014 brembo base GT manual, so this should be a bit more simple for me I assume? Will I have the same cruise issues too like you guys? So far all I can tell is I would need a premium car ABS module(my base one wont work?), the 14 cluster obviously and the steering wheel controls. Aside from installing all that, the dealer should be able to get it all to work but they will need a Vin from a preimum 14 rather than my base 14?? Thats what Im understanding so far....
Keep up the great work guys. People have been wanting to do this type of swap for years.
