No way this is the end of the thread. I suspect another year before I'm completely finished with the car. It will have an engine rebuild to get to 1000 hp and 2015 IRS in its future.

The Escape is FWD/AWD transverse already, and at least from the cars that had 3.0s and 3.5s, the mounting points were the same. The Fusion had 3.0s and 3.5s from 10-12, so I'm hoping that 3.5 is similar to any from the Edge and Flex that were available with AWD. My Escape is AWD, so I'm hoping that everything would bolt right up to the current driveline. I stopped researching when everyone gave up due to having to account for VVT-i, and my current engine not having it.
But, after seeing yours running, I would bet these guys could get it going!

YES!!! She sounds great! Kind of sounds like a mid level exotic (thinking GTR again). I love it! It sounds like muscle but a different kind of muscle than most people are used to hearing. Do me a favor; if you have a GoPro, set up and shoot one like this video I did to hear my exhaust. Once you get back on the road that is!
Thanks I do really like the sound too. You don't really notice it in the video but you can hear the turbos through the exhaust, I bet while under load you can really hear them.

All the small parts really add up fast. You need the PCM and wiring harness for sure. You might could get lucky if they have the same BCM or at least similar. This is where I would start, if the BCM is the same or uses similar plugs it would make the swap much much easier.

Yeah back before I had my 14 GT, I wanted to do the 3.5TT just because. Really though, I don't think this chassis can handle that much power and then I know I'd want to turn it up too lol. I'd be happy with 250-300hp in this thing! I was looking at wrecked Flex's and Edges a while back...they're pretty cheap
Just a thought..

If I do end up starting that project, I'll start another thread though, don't want to clutter yours up with my hopes and dreams bahaha!

I have an 05, that was the first 3.0, was 200/190 stock, but mine is nowhere near that anymore. It's got minor leaks, needs spark plugs, needs new cats. I've also consider the 3.0 out of the 09-12 Escape, which also has the same 6spd auto as the Edge, but I figure if I'm going through all the trouble, may as well get a 3.5 if it's around the same cost and doing almost all of the same work.

so make sure you read a lot of wiring diagrams before you start going after the swap

I feel like you need a team of people to accomplish this swap unless you are good at everything. Help on a forum is nice but boots on the ground is the only way to get this done in a timely manner. I would suspect 6-12 months of nights and weekends to pull it off. For a person that loves the work this is ok, but if you don't enjoy it then this could be a miserable project. If I had to figure out the electrical myself that would have made this much much harder. I probably would have found an electrical engineer that would work for cheap to help me out, preferably one that likes to work on cars.

Just a reminder for anyone wanting to swap a 3.5L EB into a RWD application, the F150 3.5L EB is the engine you want. Any of the FWD 3.5L EB engines, even the AWD ones, will have a completely different rear-face-of-block, so they will not bolt up to RWD transmissions.
The 3.5 and 3.5 EB FWD engines have a unique FROB bolt pattern, not like any other ford FWD engines.

Congratulations on getting her started! The turbo whistle was the first thing I picked up on. I just love hearing those 3.5 turbos sing. Makes me want to get a better exhaust for my 3.5.

First of all, congratulations. Hard work does pay off!
Secondly, the exhaust sounds a bit quiet, are the CATS present and the Headers stock?
GT500 quad exhaust right?

It's got factory ecoboost exhaust manifolds where the turbos are mounted. From the exhaust manifolds back to the mufflers is bbk 2.75" x-pipe with high-flow 3" cats and no resonators in the mid pipes. The mufflers are stock gt500 quad tips.
It's just missing 2 cylinders
I'm happy with the amount of noise it makes, it's not ricey which I was more worried about. Plus it's supposed to be a sleeper!
