Finally!!!

Man, I was just thinking today. This thread has got me thinking about a 3.5 or 3.7 swap into my Escape again. I know people had previously thought about it, but because the 3.5 and 3.7 have VVT-i, everyone said you couldn't mate the ECUs.

If I wanted to swap a 3.5 or 3.7 V6 and 6spd auto out of an Edge, into my Escape, can HP Tuners and/or any of the guys in here help me out with getting it running?

If you need me to stand around and watch Matt and Lexiion work on the electronics I can do that , I'm the mechanical guy so I wouldn't be able to help with that part.

I can say from the mechanical side that the transverse 3.5 is extremely wide. I was considering originally to put in a transverse ecoboost awd from a sho in to this mustang but the shock towers were 7" too narrow for the engine/trans to fit. The ecoboost transverse are half the price of the f150 motors but no transmission bolts to it excpet the fwd or awd setup.

The Escape is FWD/AWD transverse already, and at least from the cars that had 3.0s and 3.5s, the mounting points were the same. The Fusion had 3.0s and 3.5s from 10-12, so I'm hoping that 3.5 is similar to any from the Edge and Flex that were available with AWD. My Escape is AWD, so I'm hoping that everything would bolt right up to the current driveline. I stopped researching when everyone gave up due to having to account for VVT-i, and my current engine not having it.

But, after seeing yours running, I would bet these guys could get it going!

YES!!! She sounds great! Kind of sounds like a mid level exotic (thinking GTR again). I love it! It sounds like muscle but a different kind of muscle than most people are used to hearing. Do me a favor; if you have a GoPro, set up and shoot one like this video I did to hear my exhaust.
Once you get back on the road that is!
