I messaged Gus about that problem so he should be in contact you shortly.

I also aksed him to provide an update on the auto tune, so hopefully we can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Thanks

TJ

Thanks, I appreciate that. For now I programmed to the tune without the cam idle. When I went back home tonight it nearly died again but it caught itself. Seems to only happen when the car is already warmed up.

So since I installed the CAI I haven't really let her rip. Tonight I did and wow I can feel the difference and the intake makes it sound angry haha.

Mine also dies sometimes. There is no real rhyme or reason as to when it does it, it just does sometimes. I feel like it only happens if the car hasn't finished its initial warm up, then put it in gear and it will die. Never after the car has been running for a while though. Other than that its great.

Blackbird,

I provided the information that you sent me over the weekend. Did he follow up today?

Let me know if, not then I will call him tomorrow.

Best Regards,

TJ

I have the stalling issue sometimes as well, and I'm pretty sure I figured out why. In Gus' original email with the tune, he states that when restarting the car when it's already warmed up, you have to blip the throttle to get it to lope. I've found that occasionally (perhaps once every 5 warm starts), if you don't blip the throttle, it stalls. Blipping it everytime after a warm start, I haven't had the issue since.

Not sure if that can be fixed, but that is what I've been doing to solve it for now. This is still the best cam-idle tune I've had yet!

Has anybody here tried the Steeda vented hood? I like the looks but am concerned about rain gearing down into such a big opening.

MY 2012 GT,

We do extensive testing on our products and we have had 0 issues with the hood causing issues with rain.

We haven't had any issues with consumers calling us. Maybe someone can jump in and give you piece of mind.

Best Regards,

TJ

I an in hurricane country and we get terrencial rain in the summer. The mustang is my daily driver and wouldn't want to do anything to affect that. If it is a problem I'm sure you have other hoods I'd like just as much.

The only problem I had with a vented hood was the engine bay getting FILTHY all the time, as I'm in a wet climate as well. I had to clean under the hood just as often as I had to clean the car.

But no, no mechanical problems at all

I had a Cervini's ram air, then the Cervini's 2.5" cowl. The ram air is what resulted in the disgusting engine bay.

I just thought removing all that heat from the engine bay would be a good thing. I like the gt500 and 2013 hoods for that reason

Well, in almost all circumstances an aftermarket hood will just be for looks. Sure, the underhood temps might be reduced, but you're not likely to see any performance gain.

Just wanted to comment on how great this tune is. I installed the lethal performance o/r X with this tune yesterday and I am so impressed with the sound and the power gains. I have the borla s-type axle-back already and now my car sounds like a monster! I have had no bucking/stalling issues this tune is very easy to drive with with a manual trans. Awesome job steeda!
