Yes it can be fun but in the end it falls short. Getting the GT500 is the one move you will never regret.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about if there is even a shred of belief in what you're saying. If that's the case, ford wasted every penny they spent redesigning and rebuilding the 5.8L they put into the GT500. According to you, they could have saved the money and just used the coyote engine. That simply isn't the case, and it's beyond ludicrous to assume one could produce anywhere near the same power output for any amount of mileage approaching what can be achieved with the 5.8L. You'd be in the shop replacing that coyote within 5000 miles--and probably a hell of a lot less--if you managed to produce 650hp with it.
You're correct, and there are dealers willing to sell these at MSRP. With the pp and track package along with the recaro seats and vehicle cover, mine will run just under &62k--which is exactly what I'm paying.
In terms of what others do with their Shelby, it doesn't matter--those Shelby's can still out-perform similar model-year GT's. I would challenge any individual to take a GT, modify it so that it produces the very same numbers the GT500 does, take it to the track and run it on Saturdays in the summer in the south like I will with the GT500, and use it on a daily basis WITHOUT having to replace any part of the drive train before I do AND do all of this while spending less money than I will for the GT500--which is MSRP.

All of these posts saying you can bolt blah blah onto your v6 and have 700 hp are incredibly nieve.
When ford sells a car, it has to meet hundreds of requirements, both regulatory and internally.
Just because you can do something in your front yard, doesn't mean ford can sell it that way.
The car is fairly priced, if not a bargain.

Gt 500 is great but just not that great to me for paying 20k over MSRP for that or any car. Thats just dealers trying to stick it to the consumers but if someone is willing to pay it. Go for it!

I paid slightly over sticker for mine OTD, but I did everything online and over the phone. MIght have been able to find a better deal, but I also wanted somewhere near the port since I had to ship the car to Germany. Don't regret it for a second!

No one is making you pay ADM's...these can be found for MSRP because I did and I know I'm not the only one who has. It's tough and takes time and effort, but it can be done if you start early enough. If I were looking for one now and didn't have the '13 already ordered, I would start talking to dealers about the '14. They will likely be identical to the '13 with some cosmetic changes. Never too soon to start with a car like this. Also, dealerships that are selling the '13 will be given allocation for the '14 as well. They can be found at perfectly reasonable prices, again, if you're willing to do the legwork.

I heard will be no limit on 2013 GT500 production (unlike the Boss) AND the Shelby contract will be extended beyond the 2013...
The one way to combat against ADM is NOT pay them.
Remember, dealers NEED to sell, we DON'T need to buy.
Many dealers are suck with 2012 GT500's when 2013 stats were leaked.
and history will repeat itself on 2014, then 2015, 2016....
Always count on dealers greed then use it against them...
Go test drive a Vette and pull into the Ford dealer on the test drive, to show them you WILL buy another performance vehicle.
