Good luck getting that coyote engine to last very long putting out comparable numbers to the GT500's 5.8L blown monster. Just sayin'. Oh, and wave goodbye to the warranty. Keeping a GT at that level of performance for any extended period of time will have you spending north of the MSRP for the Shelby.

For reference purposes. Gary's 07 with a S/C 5.8L under the hood would be sufficient. There you go Gary.

I really don't mind his name on the glove box lid or small letter on the trunk. I just think the car is gaudy for my taste. Just my opinion, some people think its beautiful. Give me GT trimmings with a cowl induction hood and a S/C5.8L, you can leave the Shelby spoiler I guess.

umm no... a 5.0 premium will run 38k + 3k suspension + 8k SC + 2k wheels + 1,500 tires + 300 shifter + 1k exhaust + 1k other = 54,800 ish..

The Shelby is a bad a$$ car but really your paying a larger price just because it reads Shelby. Your paying for the name Cobra, Shelby. One could easily enhance a 5.0 to give similar acceleration and performance of the Gt 500 for a much lower price.

54,800 is not 80 to 84 k as some dealers are asking! Heck, thats still 10k cheaper than 65k. You can get a 5.0 nicely equipped for 32k. 8k for super charger. 40k. Tuner, exhaust system, cold air intake. 2k max. 42 for all and you have car with close to 650 hp for 42k. The 5.0 engine will last fine with the super charger

While I suspect there is some premium built into the name, more of the cost looks like hardware to me.
It's not cheap to have such a monster engine that is certified for street durability and hand-built on a small production line.
