Lower Billet Grille for the GT/CS??
GT/CS Lower Grill...
Expecting my 08 GT/CS Convertible any day now and definetly want the lower honeycomb grill. It's been 20 years, a wife, 2 kids, and a house since my last new Mustang GT circa 1987. Creamed by a truck on 8-8-88.
Put me down for the lower grill.

Doing great, love the new hood, it rocks
. Have spent the last few days off putting some of the two boxes of parts on the car that I got over the last few months
.
Up date on the lower grills. Just got back from the machinists this afternoon, took measurements and drew out some plans to get the computer program written. He will work on that this next week. Looked at type of material, thickness and attachment to the car and finishes avaliable. Hope to have some prototypes in the works in the next few weeks for fit.
Things are coming along!

talked to machinist friend, he has cut a rough proto type out of a thin material just to see what it looks like and try a prelimary fit. Next obstacle is how to fit it on the car besides some 2x tape and not having to pull the bumper off. Will be heading over there on Sunday, have to work all day Sat. so one step at a time. I have some great ideas, now to let him shoot them down...LOL.
Amazing how many little steps there are to this... measuring, programing, production, fit, finish, ease of install, instructions, photos, packaging, shipping, and if one part does'nt work, back to square one.
Christmas.... hope so but no promices.

Just got back from the shop. here is a preliminary shot of the grill semi installed. don't flame me yet, there is a lot of work to do on this still, it is a rough cut with some of the honeycomb on the sides to be cut out still but things can change as we go along too.
Other photo is rough stock out of the machine.

Looking good! Is the jack up under the K-Frame? I ask because I didn't know it was a valid jacking point...
By way of a suggestion, once y'all get the machining right, wouldn't it be easier/cheaper (on raw material as well as on machine bits), to make this thing out of plastic? It could potentially also cut out one step in the finishing process...the painting/powdercoating.
