Shelby's Lower grille is the one from the Shelby GT. I was looking into getting one of them but if you want it to match the upper grille you need their grille and it reuquires removal of the fog lights and mustang emblem. They basically cut out the emblem on the Shelby GT's. I saw a upper 3 peice unit a couple of weeks ago made by precision grilles and inquired about a lower one for the GT/CS. They did not make one but their rep Mike said he will put in a request for one and check in a month. He also asked if I lived in SE Cali so they could get the measurements but I don't.

I'm considering putting in the lower grill on my GT/CS just to protect the exposed radiator/cooler area, and probably paint it black to blend in...
has anyone done that or something similar?

Put me down for one too! I think I have to replace the A/C condenser (front-most heat exchanger) because a small rock thrown from a vehicle travelling ahead of me dinged it pretty badly.......check out the pics. Anyway I want something to protect that area...w/o having to change ou the top grill area...

PLEASE give us more scoop!

I am in the same boat as you Marc.... Stupid little rocks... why would Ford make such a big opening in front of the condensor....and then not make a grill to stop stuff from hitting it!

$80 for the Shelby piece...not bad if it fits well. Maybe we should consider spray painting one black and putting it in?

Man I wish Dougxox would say some more...this is an expensive repair (A/C consenser changeout), so time could be of the essence here...GT/CS owners need to take preventative action...it would suck (probably will in my case) to have to spend ~$600 on a repair when you could spend the $80 for the insert, and then have the ~$500 left over for mods!

c'mon Dougxox...tell us more before we buy the Shelby insert!

Project is in the works, waiting for machinist to finish current job ( about 2 to 3 weeks) to start working on this one. guess time about 6 to 8 weeks, depending on how much time he can set asside for this and how labor intensive with R&D. BTW the Shelby one matches their billit grill, not the honeycomb that is on our cars now. If anyone had a chance to look at the Shelby GT, it is the same.
Will keep you posted, just be patient...LOL

Are there any options for the honeycomb side pieces if you are not going to wait for the Shelby one with fogs and brake ducts??

Can those honeycomb pieces be removed......if so what is left behind it??
