If anyone knows of a good deal please let me know.

My ETA is August 27th. I would really like to have the spare ASAP. The car is going to be my wife's daily driver and I want it fully equipped. The car is replaceable she's not!

It appears that they may have started using that T155/70-17 size Spare in the V6's sooner than 2010. Here is a e-bay listing for one supposedly from a 2007 V6 ...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

... not a bad deal as it is complete with jack, wrench, and everyting else needed for $124.00 delivered.

The tire will be worth every penny if you are ever sitting on the side of the road with a flat.

Do you have a pic?

Will this fit over the front Brembo?

Is the tire OD a match?

What are the tire and wheel sizes?

Does this fit into the well, permitting the cover to close properly?

It looks like the first picture of this Thread started by Doug. I didn't buy the lug wrench holder. I have my lug wrench and funnel rolled in a hooded jacket. The spare fits the hole perfect. Still room for a few wrenches, tire plug kit and a few other things. The cover still smoothly shuts over the spare. The tire size is T185/60R17 and as someone else posted is 5% smaller than the factory tires. This spare won't clear the Brembo front brakes.

This "no spare" thing is not limited to Ford. The Camaro also comes without a spare and BMW has been providing "run flats" for years. I am sure there are others that are so equipped or unequipped if you will.

I'd be interested if someone had the OEM part # for the jack and lug wrench. I may pick up one 18x9.5" SVT wheel for use as a spare.

My 2005 Crossfire had 18" on the front and 19" on the rear. This was a Mercedes chassis, with a body designed by Chrysler, built by Karmann in Germany on the MB line, and it came with the inflation kit, no spare. Great car, no problems, but when I left Texas for South Dakota it had to go. No spare out here is suicide in the winter. I bought my '07 Mustang GT/CS two days before I retired and drove it back here, on back roads, with no fear of a flat. It really is worth the piece of mind if you are in any rural areas without ready access to services.

As for weight, tell your significant other to go on a diet and lose that 35 lbs. Of course when you do they will walk and it will be a mute point

OMG!

I was looking at a stripped down Ranger and they dont come with a spare but you could get a full sized spare and wheel for like 125 bucks I think. I dont blame you a bit for wanting a spare but I would have taken some other route. I mean no offense to you at all.

I recently called Ford about a fuel pump and they wanted 2 times as much as anybody else. I have never understood why so called OEM parts are so much higher. I mean Ford doesnt make the fuel pumps they just out source them like dang near everything else. Do the dealers get robbed or are they that greedy? Its another reason I have never ever taken a car or truck of any kind to a dealer for work. I dont trust them for one thing and number two they are too darn high price wise. The independent guys I have found care about their reputation and they get tons of repeat business because of it.
