Airbag Recall
I got the notice today, but it says "We'll let you know when the part becomes available." This is unacceptable, Ford! So, I have to pray to God that I don't get into an accident because if I do, the airbag may kill me if the accident doesn't... This is terrifying.
From what I understand the odds of you winning the lottery are better than the odds of your air bag killing you, so I wouldn't sweat it. And there is nothing Ford can do about it except wait for parts, like all the other affected manufacturers.

The airbag recall has nothing to do with ford making the airbag. Another company makes the airbag and all the automakers that were effected are waiting on replacement airbags. It doesn't help that the company kept lying about how many airbags were effected and they don't know how to fix it.

I got that letter but, it's says they will contact us via letter or email if it applys. I not about to leave car at stealers ip until they get ready to fix recall. I will park it & drive my Lightning .
I received my recall notice from Ford today as well -- a 2014 GT. However.... From the information in the letter, and a number of gov't & consumer sites, I learned the following:
(a) There have been approx 1,250,000 Takata airbag deployments in the last nine years. Of these deployments, 88 have failed and/or failed with injuries or deaths to the driver/passenger. In a neutral calculation without variables, if your airbag goes off, you have a 0.00704% chance of deployment failure.
(b) If you plug in the known variables for Takata airbag deployment failure, your chance goes up or down. If you live in a high-humidity environment, and/or your vehicle is five years or older, the chance of deployment failure increases by less than 1%. If you live in a low-humidity environment, and/or your vehicle is less than five years old, the chance of deployment failure decreases by more than half.
In my case, the chances of deployment failure are, apparently, approx 0.003%. I've contacted my dealer and will have the fix installed as soon as possible. But I will be driving my car until then.

I don't drive the car all that much since i work from home. But I don't want to deal with the idea of getting hurt while driving.. That's gonna suck. And of course we can sue. These guys will need to get it fixed ASAP. It's on them if they take long to replace the airbags.
I used to have 2 cars, but i sold my other one last year. Now i just have the 14' stang. So i don't have a choice to drive any other car.

Airbag Recall
Yea wasn't sure sense it's a known issue. I could see where if you got hurt and they sent you the letter it would be your fault for driving the car? But not like they are providing rentals for people that only have one car.
Until they exchange the mustang for another mustang since it's defective, they can be sued. Unless the recall happens before the person gets hurt.
Sure, a rental would be cool till they get it fixed. But that will just increase their costs; which i'm sure they would never want/do.
Companies get sued for the lamest of stuff and cough out hundreds of thousands of dollars. This case is as real as it gets.
Although i hope it doesn't happen to anybody - stay safe!
