That proves absolutely nothing.

I just see a bunch of people overreacting to the transmission issues, and a bunch of people overreacting to the overreaction.
Mine randomly grinds going into 3rd and 5th. I've been locked out of 4th when downshifting from 5th a few times. Shifting into 2nd is notchy, usually followed by a loud clunk when it engages, not to mention the engagement point is lower than every other gear.
But hey, whatever. That's what warranties are for.

Dude, you're basing your arguments on jmatero only. There are MANY other people experiancing issues with the tranny. Where the hell are you getting 100,000 people from?! 22,000 6 spd Mustangs have been sold that were 2011. Including V6's.
Jesus, if you want to attack or make a valid argument at least do some research.

This thread is starting to get out of hand.....
It's not so much that people don't believe that people have legitimate issues...its that A ) its not as widespread as people think... B ) people are WAY overeacting to the situation.
And most importantly, no one has ANY idea of each individuals situation.
Again, who knows how said person treated their car, or even knows how to properly drive a manual transmission? I'm going to take their word?... this IS the internet right...and wikipedia is the go to source for truth and knowledge....
The part that REALLY makes me go 'hrmmmm' is if someone gets 3 tranmissions replaced (not rebuilt..but brand spanking new transmission) and goes through all 3 of them and still has issues, I have a REALLY hard time believing this as manufacturer defect. Red flags are going all up on that one.

I was going to post something for this guy....but I won't. I'll just say that he is one of the ones that blamed me for sending threatening email to Matero. If it makes him feel good to believe that then more power to him. I can honestly say that I have never threatened anyone on any forum. I'm too old to be that stupid!
Save your keyboard. You can't reason with Birthers or MT82 deniers. I frankly have no idea why the victims have any desire to convince the deniers. The deniers can't help even if they do come around. They are just bystanders. So say your piece ONCE and be done with it. Put your effort into getting Ford moving. The media can help.

My Mustang has been perfect and it's absolutely one of the greatest cars I have driven...yes, I am worried about these issues but I'm certain that I'm going to stick with this car and just hope that IF there is ever a problem with my car, that Ford will have worked out the issue by then.
I feel for the folks who have had problems. Good luck, guys.

I'm an outsider. I don't have a dog in this fight. My opinion?
I saw a post on a Mustang forum where a guy was talking about how his power window motor had broken and was being replaced. **IS THERE AN OUTCRY OVER MUSTANG POWER WINDOW MOTORS?** No.
I saw the dude whos glove box door would not stay shut. **IS THERE AN OUTCRY OVER MUSTANG GLOVE BOX DOORS?** No.
There were several people in one thread that had rust in the same spot on their trunk lid. **IS THERE AN OUTCRY OVER MUSTANG RUSTY TRUNKS?** No.
Every car produced will have random little failures that pop up on a few cars, like the examples above. People get them fixed under warranty, and move on.
On other cars, there is a systematic failure of the same part on a large enough percentage of vehicles that it becomes obvious this is not a typical "random" failure. There were SHO Tarus that did not have a camshaft issue, and those owners raised hell that nothing was wrong. BUT, time proved that there was indeed a real problem with a large percentage of them. GM V6 plastic intake manifold gaskets failed at an alarming rate. And.....there are enough Mustang owners with this same transmission having the same issue that it is no longer a "random, rare" event. There are now enough of this failure that it goes beyond the "random". There is something here. I don't know what it is, but those who try to dismiss it as "background noise" are kidding themselves.
This may resolve in any number of unexpected ways. It could end up that there were a number of different small issues at play. Problems that we think today "are exactly alike" end up being totally different. On the LT1 Z28s, there was a real problem with rear transmission seals and pinion seals leaking. Some cars never had a single leak, while others were going thru 4-5 of each seal under warranty....Over and over! Nobody put the two together for a long time. Finally, it was someone with the showroom stock racing program that figured out that the stock driveshafts were UNBALANCED. So, if you got one that happened to be close to true, you never had a problem. But, the more out of balance YOURS just happened to be, the more often you would have your pinion and rear transmission seal fail! So, the solution to the seals failing was to install the 1LE aluminum driveshaft under warranty. An unrelated part, solving a mystery failure in a totally different part.
I tell that story to make the point that sometimes it takes time to figure out the real problem. Who knows what the solution here will be....BUT, there IS a real problem.
Thats my opinion.
