It was their programming and GM figured it out within 4 hours of reading the code. Ask any Toyota dealer if they did not reflash the PCM when the gas pedals were 'replaced'. I bet you won't get one no.

For those wih problems with their transmissions please realize Ford does not want to sell junk. It is not always easy to figure out want is wrong much less engineer the correction. Ford's PR folks and business/sales managers are blowing this by hoping it will go away.

I'm all for using what ever means you can get to fix the issue, but going to ABC, CBS or NBC is just supporting their goal of sensationalism. When you talk to them ask how many satisfied customers they have told to so as to get a balanced story. Why are the major networks losing viewership?
1. Watch Chris Cuomo's report on BMW's issue... he's doing the Mustang story:
http://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/bmw-adm...ry?id=11968495

I think it was fair and very effective.

2. Can you give us owners an alternative to going to the press? They closed our cases, denied replacement cars, and clearly can't fix our cars. I'm serious... I have one car that I need to get me to work... what should I and the rest of us do?

20/20........seriously. We have record deficet, huge unemployment, terrorists, n we just killed bin laden, n they are gonna "expose" ford for the issue that truly maybe 100 people are having. They must be reaching. Next they will be doing a piece on why dog turds stink. Jmatero how is it humanly possible u got three bad trans. How is that possible. When they replace them r they replacing flywheel, clutch, etc? U either have the worst god **** luck known to man, or u can't drive stick. I'd like to think it's the bad luck but Christ how could u go thru three? I'm like amazed.

You claimed I didn't have a Mustang... I posted my info.
You claimed I wasn't having transmission issues... I posted a youtube video
You claimed I had no parts replaced... I posted my detailed invoices from the dealer
You claimed abc wasn't investigating this... I posted the producer's name, email and phone number

and on... and on... and on.
I see small cropped section of one invoice so far, thought still searching. Please post larger scans or links to posted scan that indicate they are from the same car, with dates too, thanks.

EDIT: The above was not from jmatero's car, sorry.

Guys

Let me apologize...I did not mean to bring this over here. I won't reply to anymore posts about the tranny issues. I know that some folks have issues and I hope they get them repaired. So far, my cars have been awesome!

I'm also going to stop replying to anymore posts about this tranny mess. Some folks have cars that are not experiencing issues, and I hope it stays that way. Should you end up in our situation, I hope the issue is addressed by Ford by then so you can continue to enjoy your cars.

Sorry that you're not happy with your car. I hope that you're situation is fully documented, as I am pretty sure Ford will want to claim that little of what you said was true.

Let the average guy who is thinking about buying a Focus, Fiesta, Escape ect.... hear that the transmissions are built in China (you know they will bring that up) and this potential buyer may shy away. Good bad or indifferent it just doesnt sit well with most people.

If this show happens its going to lite a fire under some asses. There is WAY more at stake than just the Mustang transmissions if this goes to the media.

Hang in there, I'm sure Ford will get right to fixing them, after they fix the fox body T-5s, exploding plugs in the 5.4L eng., etc., etc. While it sucks when these kinds of things happen, and it shouldn't matter how much the vehicle cost, it's a fact that ALL the car makers play this same game when it comes to proper repairs on screw-ups in their products. They delay as long as they can and fix as few as they can until the problem goes away by the cars going away. Remember years ago when alot of cars had peeling paint? Do you think all that needed a repaint got one? Nope. Is it right or fair? I don't think so. Is it what happens? Most of the time. You folks bashing these people should stop and think for a moment, even if it doesn't effect you now, what about later on, maybe with a different car or problem, it does. when does it end? It's time to take a stand and I applaud those that are.
