My background is electrical not mechanical. I think SAE is Gross HP at the motor. This would mean the motor is 42HP and has more like 38HP at the rear wheels. I think someone messed up and put the decimal point in the wrong spot.

Add another name to the list, here. Was in love with Betty Blue, but sadly she was totaled after doing her level best to make sure I was safe. Tested out a few other models but none of them really grabbed me, so last Saturday I put a deposit down on a 2014 Mustang GT Premium, 6 speed manual and decked out just the way I wanted it. Based on how I've been after just a few days, I tip my hat to the many who have come before me with their amazing patience in waiting.
I did have a question, though, on the whole order thing. The dealer printed out the Vehicle Order Confirmation, and my priority was 19 which I gather is "ok", but is it normal to have an order number of 0000?

From what my dealer said order number does not matter. The order number is what the dealership assigns to the car. For example our Shelby's order number is 2014 just because that is the year of the car. The dealership can make up any 4 digit number they want.
However, the priority number should be lower than 19. A priority number of 10 or less is best. This means that a priority number of 10 or less has the best chance of being built. 19 may take longer. Contact your dealer and see if they can get the priority number lowered.

I don't know if this is the case for you. But maybe contact your dealer and see if you have a new order number.

After doing a little research I think each state may list it differently. Some call it Taxable Horsepower. I will be interested to know if a mistake was made.

Just wanted to post a heads up that on Fords website they now show Mustangs have a $1500 rebate and the interest rate on loans have gone down.
If you're waiting for your car to come you might be able to go back to your dealer and have the higher rebate locked in.
