“All three spokes are genuine aluminum,” adds Morales, “and there is a special focus on driver comfort. Both the spokes’ shapes and the audio controls have been ergonomically designed.” Even the steering-wheel badge received special attention. “This badge is genuine stamped aluminum, incorporating the new 2010 pony design,” says Gelardi.

How cool is THAT?!

holy giant pic..lol..

well so much for that analog clock thought between the vents. kind of think that is a poor spot for a 12v source though. that will put whatever is plugged into in the way i think.

What is that extra indentation above the center vents? I hadn't seen that before.

Looks to me like a handy place to keep your speeding tickets!

The indentation may be for the center speaker when they switch to Sony in 2011?

Hope so.

I'm betting it's just for looks. My Escape has a similar indentation in the same spot. It's completely useless, but I assume it's just there to break up the lines. Or something.

It's definitely not for speeding tickets.

Maybe it's intended to be a spot for holding your cell phone, iPod, GPS, etc while you're driving so you don't have to have those things taking up space in your cupholders. Just a thought.

And on a side note, if that is the kind of intentions for that indentation, it would be great if it were a smooth, non-textured surface in that spot so that I can mount my GPS suction cup mount there, instead of on my windsheild. It won't stick to either the top of the dash, or the front facing of the dash between the air vents due to the less than perfectly smooth surface there.

The 2010 is dash is wrapped- all in soft skin, and it goes all the way around and down past the centerstack. IMO, this is better than putting "leatherette" w/ wavy stitches over hard plastic brow of today. That leatherette doesn't soften up the feel of the current dash one bit. This new one is soft all the way around.

I can see that, too. But I still say it looks more like the '71-'73 'Stang.

The color doesn't help, though. It's very Challengery. Challengerish. Challengeresque. Whatever.

Yep. From that angle, you can't discern the forward-leaning angles of the 'shark nose.' Just looks flat and chunky.
