Wondering if they will save the GT500 for Chicago or NY
I'd guess it would only be the Coupe Base/GT and maybe the vert too.
I'm just guessing here

Someone on a UK forum mentioned that the Shelby factory tour is shut in October. I wonder if this is because they are ramping up for the launch of the 2010 Shelby GTs?

It was posted by a member of the Mustang Owners Club GB. He did the tour last week and mentioned it's closed during October. I just put 2 and 2 together. But I could be very wrong

I hoping for all 3 to unveil in LA. At the very least I would think it would be Base/GT in both coupe and vert forms. Especially considering the tease was of the GT vert.
EDIT: And I think they'll briefly mention some specs too.

I've noticed the same. Just a guess, but I would be willing to bet we wont see the upgraded brakes needed to deal with the 400hp+ 5.0 until we see the engine. Shame too, since rumors indicate the redesigned car actually loses weight until the heftier 5.0L V8 and six speed tranny are added. Given this, a revised 2010 Mustang carrying the lighter 3-valve V8 and 5 speed tranny around and potentially weighing less than the existing GT for it, but which wears the heftier binders being created for the stouter 5.0, might have been an interesting ride.

No hard numbers, just insiders indicating that Ford worked on the chassis to offset the weight increase the new drive-line will bring to the table. If I had to venture a guess, 50-100lb. But the likelihood of increased standard content and other potential changes muddy the waters.

I wouldn't really throw that in since 19's will be optional. Base curb weight might creep up a bit if 18's become standard, which seems likely. The revised brakes the 2011 GT will certainly be getting could throw on a few pounds as well, although that isn't a certainty. Truth is we don't yet know exactly what is going to be included in the 'increased standard features' the revised S197 will have, we just know that the revised Mustang will have more standard features and that the addition of the same will make the car heavier at least in base trim, even if only by a little.

I'm not sure if this is an old question or not but, are we getting a 6 speed MT/AT in the GT and base model? I think Ford already offers 6 speed autos in many of their cars and the old F- Bodies have had 6 speeds since 93' I think Ford should get on with the times.
