Thanks for the measurements. I can't wait to get mine and i am very happy with everybodys pictures and comments. The best looking hood for the gt500's by far. Not even close. Thanks to Trufiber.

I met a couple from the Nature Coast Mustang Club at the Fantasy of Flight show this weekend in a Vista Blue GT500 with the later version of the Venom and it looked fantastic. With it's custom painted stripes, it was the best looking GT500 at the show. There were several GT500 owners including one with a factory Supersnake hood drooling over the venom. Sorry no pics yet as my son hasn't replaced my digital camera yet after breaking my last one.

Hi.
That was our GT500 at the show. Thank you for the very nice compliment. The Venom hood is really nice. Our body guy said it was in way better shape than the Cervinis hood he put on our 05 GT. Here are a few pics:

Has anyone let their car sit out in the rain with this hood on?
I know the engine bay gets wet but those louvers are going to dump water on all the electronics all the time.
I don't park in a garage. Should I make some kind of guards or do you all think it even matters?

This is what I did. I don't know if your hood has them but mine did.

That is the stock strut brace on the GT500 just painted body color. You can order them prepainted from JLT Performance. They're not on his website last time I looked but you just call and ask for 1. It was only like mid $100 range. Really made a difference from the stock black strut brace.

How did you attach the drain pans and do they keep the heat extractors functional? Any pictures of how you did it?

I have had no problems so far and I drive rain, sleet, snow or shine. I actually get more water dumped in the engine compartment when I wash the car. some times I just dry off the engine when I'm done drying the car and other times I just go about my business.

I have not use them yet,i dont drive in the rain.I keep them in the trunk in case i run into a thunderstorm. If you look at the first picture you see that the pan has holes on the sides, they attach to the bottom of the extractor with six s/s sheet metal screws,i tried once and it took me four minutes to put them on.Once you have them on it cuts your heat extraction by 75%.
