Thanks.
Two mounting pins-- use a hairdryer to heat up the badge and then drag fishing line between the badge and the body panel to cut through the adhesive.

Thanks...I know this has been off topic so if you wnat to PM me when you have pics of the badges or just post another thread that would be great.

By the way your car is pretty much what I plan on doing except the grill. If only I could find a good way to delete my spoiler!

Well I installed my GTAs last night, and MAN do they sound sweet...like everyone says, not much louder at idle, noticeably deeper though...but they roar at WOT

The install was not as easy as I'd read, some pretty tight spaces between the brackets and the bumper covers, I had to use a couple combinations of deep sockets or short sockets or short sockets with extensions to get at everything....it would have gone a LOT faster if I had some of those ratcheting box-end wrenches

Sweet...I can't wait

I have to unbolt from the midpipe on the passenger side and push the muffler forward a little...it's sticking out about an inch farther than the one on the driver's side.

Overall, very happy w/ the purchase, looks great and sounds even better.

I cant wait until tommorow, ill be installing them and an offroad x. They will be replacing my high flow cats and stingers. The drone is terrible, even worse i had to put the cats on since the car was unbearable without them.

Here's a dumb question, do the stock mufflers get louder after 1000 miles? I'm only at 550 so that's the reason for the question

Overall not a hard mod at all and the bang is worth the buck.
I am having the same problem...

Last night, I tried adjusting the left muffler by backing it off of the intermediate pipe a little bit. Now, the left (driver's side) muffler rattles a little bit between 1250 and 1500 RPM under load

I'm going to put it back to the way it was before when I get home tonight, and concentrate on making adjustments to the right (passenger side) muffler and intermediate pipe instead.

(SIDE NOTE: My center-stack rattle at 1200-1250 RPM has been eliminated since installing the GTA mufflers, I'm guessing the change in exhaust frequency helped this out )

Another question to those who installed the GTAs--

Did you get the notches on the GTA muffler inlet pipes to seat properly on the round alignment nub on the intermediate pipe?

My GTAs will barely touch this round alignment nub--I can't seem to get the nub actually into the alignment recess on the muffler pipe. Right now the muffler tips are about even with the rear bumper cover! (Fore and aft)

Mine did not fit in the slot all the way and turn either. If you measure the flaired part of the GTA you will find the muffler is seated at the bottom
when pushed on but, not enough to re-lock those pins.

I noticed mine would touch the rear fascia. Right now I have the bottom rear mount shimmed with one washer between the bracket and the frame. I plan to redo it when I have time. Mine is not a DD.

Oh. That's good news! Should be a fairly simple adjustment when I go home then, instead of the war between pipe and muffler that I was forecasting

I will try this if putting it back to the original mount location doesn't work.

Thumbs up

OK well I got under the car again today after work, and I was able to get the driver's side muffler alignment notch completely around the alignment "nub" on the intermediate pipe!

Unfortunately, this didn't solve the "rattle".

(I tried to get the passenger side muffler to do the same, but I couldn't get the "nub" into the alignment notch on the muffler, even after unbolting the intermediate pipe and trying to twist it a little--oh well, it's aligned fine anyway and has no rattling.)

After that, I did what Awake said and shimmed the bottom rear mount with about 5 (EEK!) washers, adding up to about 3/8" to 1/2" worth of spacing.

After this, I did a test-drive and confirmed that the "rattle" was GONE!! If anyone else has this problem, it's probably the tip vibrating against the rear bumper cover...only happens during startup and from 1250-1500 RPM.

Using the spacers on the driver's side, the tips came out even on both sides and centered in the exhaust cutouts

I tried bending the hanger on the driver's muffler to acheive the proper alignment without the washers, but no luck--can't get enough torque on it the way it's installed...and I'll be ****ed if I'm taking it out!

Anyways, now all I hear is sweet, deep GTA burble and roar

if i were to install the GTA's on a stock gt with no xpipe would there be any difference?

i have read there is a loss of power at takeoff and throttle response is limited...how true is this?

Where have you read that?

I have read (in general terms- not specific to the FRPP stuff) an x-pipe does lose some low end torque but adds higher end horsepower.

I was talking about loss of throttle with the gta's and stock h pipe. I read it on this thread. around pages 1 - 5. i was just double checking to make certrain because I am torn between a few mufflers and I do not want to change the h pipe and install an x pipe. Right now, I'm torn between 3 different types of mufflers. The Flowmaster American Thunder, the FRPP Shelby GTA's and the Cherry Bombs. Here are some links to check out the video clips...
