Great thread, you've made up my mind once and for all about buying the GTAs over the Corsas! I'd have bought the Corsas in a second, but at under 1/2 the cost and supposedly the same sound w/o drone, GTAs can't be beat!

I'll be installing mine in mid-february

How much quieter would you compare these to the stingers? I have the stingers and lately have been wanting something with no drone.

Just installed my "used" Shelby/Hertz GTA's....interesting, deeper @ idle, no drone on the frwy, and seem almost quieter, but certainly smoother, under normal driving......I was told these had "under 1500 miles". I'm thinking maybe 150 miles...there was no carbon build up...so I'm thinking once they season they will be a bit louder under what I call "normal" driving...it was weird, they just seemed quieter. Much better at WOT, or just reving the engine. Overall, with the look, slightly louder @ idle they can't be beat....but then I paid $70.00! The great thing...no adjustment at the mid pipe needed perfect fit! Go figure.

Talking Finally Got Off The Fence

I was on the fence since I got my stang regarding the exhaust. Thanks to this thread I have jumped off the fence and ordered the Supreme/GTA mufflers from Ninosport. I can't wait for them to get here and get them installed.

Thanks Gang!!!

Trust me, i have the GTA's and if you get the 4" tips adjusted just right (so they don't stick out to far) they really look good. And remember they are double walled, so you can get them close to the openings.

Cool Bob....let us know how it goes. I'll be ordering mine as soon as it warms up a bit outside.

I've heard that some people have gotten their GTA's to line up perfectly without loosening the H-pipe. Other's also managed without touching the H-Pipe but had to bend the hangers a bit. For this reason, do you guys think I should just order an extra pair of hangers from Ford and use the new ones with the GTA's? This way if do have to bend them slightly, I'll still have the perfect hangers with the OEM mufflers should I ever decide to put them back on.

steevr,
You should not need to bend the hanger pieces that bolt onto the frame. If you need to bend anything, it would be the hanger 'rods' that are welded onto the mufflers themselves, not the attaching brackets.
All I had to do to get good alignment was loosen & shift my R/H H pipe clamp & pipe.
Save the bucks for another item.

+1 Absolutely correct. The "hangers" are just the steel rods that are welded onto the mufflers themselves. Sometimes, like in my case, they get bent slightly during shipping, but are easy to bend back to the correct position. These rods then insert into the rubber mounts on the car, which slip right off the old mufflers, and right onto the new ones.

GTA's Are Great

Bought my GTA's from Dallas Mustang.

Installed them today and right from the start, I loved the sound.
They sound as excellent as everybody had stated, with NO DRONE at all.
Later in the day, drove to a local shop for the state safety inspection, and the mechanic asked, "Wow, what kind of exhaust have you got?"
(That is the first time anyone has ever mentioned the exhaust sound from my baby)

Color me completely satisfied so far.

GTA's

I have some Flowmasters with about 5000 miles on them. After they broke in they sounded louder than new and I got some drone in the lower RPM's. It was too much for me. I then got the GTA's and they are great. They too got louder after about 1000 miles but they never drone. At WOT they are almost as loud as the Flowmasters but I'm really glad there is no drone. Personally I like the sound characteristics better than the Flowmasters also.
btw...if anyone wants a set of Flowmasters with about 5k on them for cheap PM me. I might sell them.

Unhappy

Here is my report:

Went to a buddy's house as he has a lift. Total time 2.5 hours.
Still don't have the left side set just right (it hits the top cutout of the fascia) even working the mid pipe clamp. I did paint the ends black.
Car seems quieter at idle and when off the gas. Louder pulling 3000 to 5000.
Car seems to pull not as strong from the start. Throttle response not as good.

Brief audio clip after!

Overall to early to tell if I like it. Keeping stock ones on shelf for now.

Let me know if the video doesn't work!

Talking

I installed the GTA's today and they sound great, I love the deeper growl. The only problem I have is that the right tip sticks out a bit farther than the left. I readjusted both and even though it is better, it is still not even. I will have to screw around with them another day to get them just right.

Overall not a hard mod at all and the bang is worth the buck.
