Got min installed tonite. Just a small step up from stock, not bad. Best part is absolutly no drone. Have the stock H-pipe.Gonna run this for a bit, may go with the X-pipe later. Really don't notice any difference @ cruise. Sounds great @ idle & above 2500-3000.
Thanks for all the info here on these.

Aircare,

Glad you are happy with the GTAs. Any comment on how they sound compared to the GTAs with the X-pipe on the Video attached? I know its hard to compare off video clips, but haven't seen or heard a good comparison clip of these install with H-pipe vs X-pipe.

I'm trying to decide between the GTAs on stock H-pipe, or the Flowmaster axel back. I guess I could get them and add the X-pipe later, but I'm not keen on cutting on the mustang yet.

I eagerly await semperfi65's impressions as well.

Regards,

rnail,
It's hard to say, the video clip sounds slightly louder, but fairly close. Personally, I'm not gonna cut out my H-pipe yet. If these mufflers 'season' any like I've heard with the louder ones,it will be fine for my tastes.
I've already got a CAI +tune on mine & it's enough for me. Did manage to chirp third today seeing how it sounds when I get on it.Still don't think I've taken it over 5000rpm yet.
I have my concerns on if I ever have to take it in for warranty concerns,I'd prefer to be able to unbolt any mods & not have the hassle over mods.
I've also decided to keep my IMCO mufflers & if I feel like more noise, I'll just throw them back on for a bit. Loved the sound of them, just hate drone. There is absolutly no drone issues with the GTA's.
I realize this may not answer your question, but the GTA's only offer a slight increase in sound over the stock, if you're looking for a big difference, you'ld best go with another brand.Unfortantly, from what I've found out is more noise=more drone, gotta compromise.

Aircare84,

Thanks for your impressions. I'm probably going to go with the GTAs since they have OEM quality, stainless steel and I know I won't go too far on the drone issue. All I want is a little more sound at idle, and pulse around town. I think as long as you think with the stock H pipe it sounds "good" thats what I was looking for. The video clips give the impression of a polished more mellow sound than most of the other aftermarkets.

I'll probably do the Granatelli intake/MAF next, and that will probably make the car just a little louder anyway.
Thanks again.

I also agree that these mufflers will "season". The video sounds louder than mine but I only have about 100 miles on the mufflers. Of course I only have 10K on the car period.

rnail,
The CAI+ tune is the best upgrade you can do on these cars in my opinion. The tune improves the overall driveablity considerably.I was a bit skeptical at first, but after installing I was a believer.Did also add a small amount of 'tone' to the sound. I believe the tune actually does more of an improvement than the actual CAI, unless you spend more time at a higher throttle.
After my warranty runs out, I'll probably look into the X-pipe & possible headers, but I'm done this year with add-ons. Next year will be the rear window louvers.

shipped.

SO I can order the X pipe from the dealer ???

Well, I couldn't wait any longer so I ordered the Supreme performance GTAs last night -$279 shipped. After all the obscessing, I think I made the right decision for me. The way I look at it, the Mustang is my toy and I like trying different things. If I don't like them, then I'll try something else.

As far as the tuner goes, I'm not ready to do a tune on the car - yet, but I figure I'll do the Granatelli for now, and then tuner later if I want more.

I really appreciate all the great feedback you guys have given me and I'll post my impressions once I'm done. I'll try to get a video camera and get a sound/video clip. This has really turned into such a cool hobby for me in my 40's since I can afford to do a few things with it.

Just got the FRPP 5320-GTA's in today. They sound and look great. Not annoyingly loud, but a much better sound than stock. Sounds more like the performance car the GT really is. Thanks to Mustang Buster for helping me make up my mind.

My pleasure guys, that is why this forum is so great by helping each other out. Man Angelo, you got a heck of a deal for $263 shipped, who gave you that deal? There are guys on here paying $340-$350 for them, and I though I got a good deal at $270. Oh, and any FRPP dealer should be able to get the X-Pipe for you, I got mine from the same dealer that I got the GTA's from.

I got mine from Gene Evans Ford www.gefracing.com for $297. Can't remember whether that included shipping or not. I was in such a hurry to order them. I'll see when the Visa bill comes in.

rnail,
My GTA's are getting 'seasoned'.
Have about 150miles on them now, noticable deeper & louder tone from the 1st day.
I've found what I was after, am sure you'll be pleased with them also.Gonna keep the stock H-pipe on mine for now.

Now with a few hundred miles on them, mine have seemed to get slightly louder. I think having the FRPP X-Pipe on makes quite a bit of difference though, as some on other threads are saying they are just barely louder than stock with the H-Pipe. Mine are quite a bit louder than stock especially at idle and WOT, but just a little louder than stock and no drone at cruise.
