Removed the CHE axle brace from the fiancee's Shelby and did a 4-wheel brake job on it with new slotted StopTech rotors and Hawk HPS pads.
Went with the larger '13-'14 GT500 14" rear rotors with the adapter brackets the dude sells on eBay and on svtperf.

Huge difference between the stock 11.8" rear rotor and the new one:

Also changed its oil and filter, put in some fresh Amsoil and a new Wix filter

MY Mustang's turn for some fresh Amsoil 5W50 and a new Wix filter.
Looked up the mileage at the last change, it was exactly 3775 miles ago, almost exactly a year ago.
I'm pissed I'm not driving her more ... will have to make up for that this year.

Gabe... awesome.

How do you like the Stoptechs? Those look like the exact same ones I put on my Acura (albeit slightly larger of course). I used the Posiquiet pads and you used the Hawk. The overall setup was nice, quiet, but more spongy feeling than the stock ones. I don't know if that was due to the pads or the rotors or both. Either way, they were decent - I just didn't care for the longer pedal travel before real bite/stop.

As for the Amsoil - you don't use Amsoil oil filters? Try them out too!!! I use all Amsoil. Also, you give your woman's car XL series then you get Sig Series? Lol... you cheap sob Give her the best too!!! Hell, it's a Shelby for goodness sakes :P hehe.

Nice. I'm digging it.
Big difference in rotor size for sure.

They need to be bedded-in. I noticed them being a bit soft too, but on a hard pedal stomp they give you a nose bleed.
Haven't really driven her car much since it's raining around here and just got finished at about 6 last night.

Amsoil filter vs Wix filter ... I've used both, don't think the car cares which one I use, and we keep a few dollars in our pockets buying the Wix ones.
Amsoil sells them on their site, they talk quite highly of them on there, and I've seen tests, they're good filters.
They're certainly not a Fram.

As far as the XL vs the Signature-series oil, Amsoil doesn't make the 5W50 in anything but Signature series, or at least when I bought it they didn't, so that's what I bought.
If they had it in XL, I would've bought that.
Just got an e-mail from them that they're doing free shipping with orders over $100 so we're gonna order more oil this week.

Yeah I bedded them in for sure. 4 to 5 hard stops from 50mph, then allow to cool for over 5 minutes via highway driving - still soft The stock Acura were brakes were probably pretty good then. LOL.

As far as Amsoil stuff - I know a guy from Wisconsin so I pay really really really cheap prices. On everything. So I'm Amsoil on everything, even on my cheap 1998 CRV Beater, I use Amsoil. LOL. It's cheaper than buying even the cheap oil from Autozone.

Yeah, those two stopped me dead in my tracks. They were the real deal and were older restorations. If I could only have of them, it'd have to be a coin toss. There was also another real Shelby there...a 69/70 GT500 but with a 427FE and a quartet of Webers in Grabber Blue.

A fresh oil change always feels good. I am running Amsoil but using 5W20 XL with the Amsoil Filter. Are you using 5W50 as opposed to 5W20 because of the supercharger?

For the Track Pack cars Ford recommends 5w50 full synthetic:

The Mustang is finally drivable again!.
Picked up the intake tube, strut tower covers, and the fuse box cover from the hydro dip place a few hours ago, got all the parts re-installed, and fired it up. It felt so good to hear it run again ... the last time it ran was when I brought it home from the World of Wheels show, April 1st.
Had to re-install the old throttle body for now since I still haven't been re-tuned for it, but that's properly scheduled for later this month.
Autocross this Saturday!

Well... I did the unthinkable today. After a year or so of planning/saving, I went ahead and literally just ordered my Kooks parts [LTH's, Quad hiflow green cat/H pipe, side pipes]. Of course I did this all with the wifey's (i.e. the boss) blessing.

It's my final "big" mod - sans replacing stock internals or a new motor. Marilyn is finally complete, bolt-on wise.

Parts come in 10-15 days, so hopefully by end of the month she will be all installed.

Today i gave her bath and a massage with rejuvenating oils. a.k.a. a wash and a wax. Then took her for a photo shoot. Here are a few of my faves from the day.
