What did you do with your Mustang today?*
After yesterday's curb damage incident I needed a Mustang morale adjustment. Luckily these just arrived for the addition of some engine bay bling. I still awaiting a refinished plenum cover from another source which will be high gloss black with red accents, the reverse scheme of the coil covers. I hope it's as well done as the coil covers. Soon to arrive are billet TriBar caps for the rad, oil, and w/s washer as well as covers for the battery and brake resevoir.

Yesterday I took Mistress Lauren to the 30th annual summer round up and American Iron show put on by the Mustang Car Club of New England.... I took second place for my vehicle class (stock 2005 to 2011). I was told I missed 1st place by fractions of a point.

Haven't done it yet, but today she's getting the 285/40/18's off my GF's Shelby, getting them installed on the front
Should be a much better tire for the upcoming autocross than the all-season Conti DWS's that I have on there now, which were plowing everywhere last time
A quick mock-up, just becuz

I have pics from the show and of the trophy... I just have to download them; it was a very busy weekend and week so far at the firehouse.. my tour of duty yesterday with a contractor hitting a high pressure gas line at a condo complex, filling the 3 occupied buildings and the one under construction with a concentration of natural gas that was within the 5 to 15% flammable range.. and it was at shift change... and rush hour (the complex is on US Route 20)... fun fun fun!

Lol ...
So, the first place I went to, wouldn't put them on worrying that they might rub and they didn't want the liability.
Second place said they'd have to drive the car after installing them, that being the only way to know if they'll rub or not.
Yeah, ok.
Told the guy I don't want anybody driving it, his reply was a rude "well maybe we shouldn't work on it" ... fkn really? I walked in asking for the owners that I've known for a long time, and that's how you talk to me?
I'm not done with that guy.
Then I went to my condo and worked on it a bit.
Currently at a 3rd shop, working with me so far.
Gonna mount/balance one, bring me out to show me how it fits, put the car down and turn the wheel and see if it hits anywhere.
If all good, second one gets done.
Hope I'm not gonna spend $60 for nothing.

That pic above is still a 275 Continental

The clearance with the 285's:

And some regular pics with the 285's on:

Was getting awesome gas mileage...

But then a Prius pulled up behind me at the light. So I had to do this...

So my mileage dropped a bit...

Was totally worth it.

Darren... Remember our talk about worrying about scraping our splitters? Well... I was a bit proactive, so I used some tape and some plastidip and created a pseudo barrier for future accidental scrapes and possible rock chips. Can you tell it's on there? If not, then good! How it should be... Pic is of left and right side of my valence
Then I got carried away and detailed her at 10 pm tonight

Just installed the new Ford Racing twin-65mm throttle body, running it for now off the twin-60 JDM tune, which they say is OK to do.
However, I can't push it much until I get a new tune for the new VMP fuel pump voltage booster
First start-up:

Was a little surprised to see this oil in the elbow ... guess I really need to think about a dual-catch-can set-up.
