Let's see... the Mini Cooper S (160 HP) has a 0-to-60 time of 8.4 seconds, and does the quarter mile in 16.6 seconds. And our GT's can go 0-to-60 in 5.1 seconds, with a quarter mile time of 13.5 seconds.

This is from one source, so numbers may vary from source to source.

Dan: 10000 miles
Dan: cooper s with the john cooper works package...faster than ****
Dan: like a go cart on steroids
Susan: i don't know anything about those
Susan: my car is fast
Dan: the mini would smoke it
Susan: really
Susan: race ya
Dan: really
Dan: it is one **** fast little car
(edited - my apologies for the mild profanity)

Another source:

Mini Cooper S with John Cooper Works Kit Package
200 BHP (163 BHP stock)
177 FT-LBS Torque (155 FT-LBS stock)
0-60: 6.5 seconds (6.9 stock)
Top Speed: 140 MPH (135 stock)

And the winner is... The 2006 Mustang GT

Many a people have "THOUGHT" that very thing about their cars, until they actually race the Stang
I say smoke his ***, then just grin and drive off as the wind whips through your blonde hair.
As you mention your car is STOCK and his is the Top of the Line MINI

It's a race to the Saleen Short Throw Shifter!

This is exciting!

(edit)
Guess I win...

Couldn't wait, so I just placed my order via phone. Unfortunately, Saleen goes to the same school of shipping as Steeda; they can't tell me what the shipping cost is until it ships! Their lame excuse was that they don't know what carrier it'll end up with (UPS, Fed Ex, blah.. blah). They expect it to ship out Friday, so I guess I'll call back then to see what my total is. Steeda pulled the same crap when I ordered the Ultralites. I'm at their mercy, what to do...

Good new for you guys is that they have several in stock.

No race here, I will wait and see what you say after you install it. Do me a favor though, go drive your **** car so you can remember what it shifts like now and then give us a fair comparison of the difference.

Ha! I drove it lastnight to my monthly club drive-in so the stock shifting is fresh in my mind. Attached is a pic from one of the guys there, taken from his camera phone.

At the drive-in lastnight, a columnist from Motor Trend was there with his 05 or 06 GT. He had it completely striped of its paint and had it shot in Highland Green! Sorry, no pics. But, I think it's in one the recent issues of Motor Trend.

Shaker is due in today. I'm ready.

Hope you feel better Tom.

Rivet question (for the Shaker trim rings)...

Was this easy to do? Rivet holes from the inner and outer trim rings line up perfectly?

For those that read the older post I linked on the Saleen shifter, there was some confusion on the install directions.

I started a new thread here asking to validate the current directions. If you're thinking about this mod, you may want to follow it.

Daryl- I tried to heat up that rear section lip below the license plate in attempt to close the small vinyl gap right at the corners.

Attempt backfired at me!

There must have been some moisture in the corner crevices because larger bubbles started to suddenly appear! I tried to move them into and out of the corners, but some still remain. I should've not messed with it in hindsight.

I don't have the time to let the stripes 'bake' in the sun, as most of these pesky bubbles will probably lay down on their own. I may have to start popping them by pin.

How are your stripes doing?

The front bumpers still have a few bubbles, mostly on the first piece I installed. Most have laid down, but I have a couple bigger ones around the very top edge of the stripes, right along the lower black grille. I will pop them later next week, if they don't lay down.

Honestly Not enough white, just a little at the front of the car compared to 12" Dual stripes.
Just my Opinion though.
