Thanks.
Bill-I'd just finished making the exact same pics.
**BTW- I don't think your going to get any negative responses considering you didn't open it up for opinion. All you said was some people didn't like....here's pics for those that do. I'm just saying cause unless people ask for an opinion I'll just say looks good or won't bother posting a comment.

Brian- FYI still haven't been able to get in contact with Ducktail dude.

Leo you know what, you posted a picture of the passenger side GT/CS but I didn't find ONE photo in your album of the Passenger side of your car.
I had to mirror your car.

Best I could do

Matte Black
Attachment 20923

Tungsten Gray (or something close)
Attachment 20924

I think I like the Matte Black, sort of a stealth/sleeper look.

I didn't think of it that way, but now that you mention it, you're right.

Although I have no doubt, a mix of comments will be added by days' end.

I agree the matte black look best. Any chance you can move the stripe up ever so slightly? Also can you try playing with the length and placment. Just so I can get some more ideas. Sorry about not giving you pics to work with.

I like the Matte Black, too... but you won't be able to wax it... not sure about Zaino.

-----------------

Well, after spending two days at the track I've decided to start bracket racing the '89. I will have to get slicks though. I drove it to work today and it won't hook up in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. Believe it or not, I was going 70 on the Turnpike in 4th gear. Only 2 barrels were open, but when I nailed it I lost traction. At 70!

But I have aftermarket upper and lower rear control arms, beefed up axles, an aluminum driveshaft (I'm getting a loop if I get slicks), and a beefed up axle cover. If I break something, I think it'll be the transmission. It's the next weakest link. Which is fine, because I want an excuse to get a new one, anyway.

The heads/intake/cam set-up will pull from 1500 to 6500 and my rev limiter is set at 6200.

My only problem may be not being able to see through the hood when I take off if I get slicks!

No worries. I think I'm gonna hold off then and shoot for the CS front end first and then worry about the ducktail. If no word from the guy, then I'll go with the SSE version. I really appreciate you trying to get this. Apparently he doesn't want to sell it....

Well I'll make sure to post plenty of pics once I get them.

No problem I'm just a little ****ed of that he hasn't even had the courtesy of returning my calls.

Tom- Not to worried about the waxing since it's such a small area. I'll just mask them off with tape when I do wax the car.

I'm just waiting on a response back from BSM to see if they can send me a set like the ones Daryl PS.

Leo, I like the first one where the fade ends at the door line. Pic 2 looks okay, but I think it'll look funny with just the fading dots on the rear section of the rocker when the door's open.

What exactly did you ask Rob? I'd be interested in this design in Gloss White and the height the same as my S-type stripes. If Rob can make it, can you ask him for a 2fer price?

Looks like we're about to have another member of the Bama Club!
Going staight to the 91R? Don't let the $3 per gallon deter you, be a man!

The 89 sounds like a blast to drive! Although you probably don't want to drive it everyday even if you could.

Hey Leo! There's a race for you!... against the State Trooper!

You got the color matched black, right?

What ever happened to the strut covers? btw- I checked mine yesterday, no rub marks at all.

Next time we're together we'll do it! With my combo I'll be shooting for low 12s or high 11s. But I'll need a lot of practice... and better grip.

Same here with the covers... no rub marks.

I'm still torn between the two we'll see what happens as more people vote.

I asked if he could make a custom version of the CS stripe. I asked him to remove the lettering and make it a straight edge at the begining of the stripe. Ohhh changing your mind on the Saleen stripe I see.

Isn't that his "sooped" up car?? I'd get owned.

Yup. Should be here Friday according to UPS tracking.

Well I'm sending back the 1 left cover and they're going to send me a new one with some sort of 3m clear plastic over the trouble area. Which is fine by me since I seem to be the only one with the problem.

Only? Doesn't it also have a significant weight advantage when compared to a S197???
