That looks good, I'll have to compare it with my heavy wear spots and see if they are covered. They should be, that guard looks pretty wide.

 

The heel guard is hard and uncomfortable. I bought a cheap set of plastic floor mats to use daily. At car shows, I put in the red ones with the heel guard.

 

Sounds like me. Except your plastic floor mats are my towels.

 

Hrmm.. have any of you guys tried the weathertech mats? I was considering them as the cheap option, just not sure if they have the holes to prevent sliding around

 

Well, on my way to the airport I filled up with some 93.5 octane gas so that when I do get the tune I should be ready to go. I had like 25 miles left in the tank on 89 octane so a quick top off and it should work. I might not get to put the JLT and tunes on right away...The rear end is making that noise again... I am not sure when they "fixed" it the last time but it wasn't that long ago... Needless to say I am thinking of taking it to another dealer to see if they can make the fix permanent.

 

Just go and install a set of 4.10's and be done with it, John.

Already trimmed 2 weeks ago.

I wanted to get it all done before I posted pics. I want to replace my Air Filter before the Dyno Tune and for the life of me CANNOT find a freaking replacement air filter in this **** city.

I looked all day yesterday for something to trim the edges of the shaker shroud with, also to no avail. These idiots around here look at me like I asked the Average Wing Speed of a Swallow.

I never did call you Leo (I'm not much of a phone guy) to have you tell me what you used to trim the edges with. I saw some door edge trim, but it was to rigid to make the corners without kinking. So what did you and everyone else use to trim the edges out?

 

I'm pretty sure C&L uses a S&B Filter.

I doubt C&L's part number will jive with S&B's, so you'll have to take some physical dimenensions off of it.

You can give them a call to see if there're any distributors in your area. Too bad you didn't think about this a week or two ago.

Trim the edges out? Kevin just used a dremel with a shaft-style cutting router bit to trim the entire shroud. You have to have a smooth, large radius at the corners to lessen the chance of any trim from binding up at the apex. Few drops of crazy glue (on the inside of the shroud!) around places where it may lift is also a good idea.

 

Yea I think you mentioned C & L's website to order a replacement a few weeks back and being the procrastinator that I am, I waited until the last minute.
In hindsight I may have trimmed the corners too tightly so I may have to go back and make larger radii. No one has told me what they used as trim on the edges yet.

Well, since it's too late to get a new filter (incase you can't locate a replacement S&B), just go get a K&N Cleaning Kit from any auto parts store.

Caution! Don't get carried away with spraying on the new (red) oil. I thought I was being conservative with the spray and I ended up putting too much oil into the filter. I found this out when I removed the filter to do the CMDP's. Had to stand it up on it's end to let all the extra oil run out.

 

Maybe I'll get one of those shakers and make a tunnel for my strut tower brace. It seems like everyone's carving these things up anyways
