I dunno, but when you get this part figured out, please bookmark it on post #1.

This info will be handy when I decide to upgrade my head unit.

I had to get back inside quick before getting blown away.

That's too funny!

It was more windy in Hawaii.

BTW- Your bicycle handlebars look WAY too close to the vert, better throw a moving blanket over those things.

I assure you that NOTHING is touching the vert... and only the things I want to touch the '89 are touching it (like the Summit box).

My new shed is in the driveway (being built tomorrow). I was worried about that, so I'm glad there wan't more wind.

I'll take another video in a few hours... that's when it's supposed to get a little worse.

Still wish I would have taken video in the middle of one of the 2004 hurricanes to show my roof blowing off. We were outside now and then dodging other people's shingles and watching our roof go through our next-door neighbor's pool screen.

I am sure it gets MUCH worse than that. That is a slight breeze in Oklahoma. Shoot if it doesn't make the trees bend half way to the ground it isn't considered wind. LOL

It does... see last sentence of post #2285.

Bill... when will you get a chance to feel how loose your car's a$$ is?

Not today my good friend...

I'll try and make it over to my in-laws within the next couple of days. I'll then determine how tight her butt is.

Well, I got the opportunity to check out my rear end for excessive flex and I've come to the conclusion that it's not too bad.

Yes, it does flex out somewhat, but it feels tight and not sloppy at all.

Here's a short vid of the flex.

There's 3 support angles coming off the lower bumper lip that attaches up into the body. It looks to be designed to allow some movement.

Guess that's what why some install the rear diffuser.

Forgot to mention that I got a little package from Ford last week...

A pack of gum.

And some worthless coupon certificate to save $500 on a new Mustang.

Dang, I thought it was something good. Oh well! At least I could use the gum!

She was right... go tap on your rear bumper cover just under the license plate... it will feel very loose. I checked Mike's and it was just like mine.

Here's what I did...

I didn't pull them overly tight... just snug to keep the bumper cover from flapping.

The next time she was following me to the TMS meet at Race Rock, she said it looked ALOT better.
I used heavy velcro like I used to hold my front plate on. Its black, so on a dark blue car it is hard to see even down low.

That's a lot of flex!

I didn't cinch the zip ties tight... just took some of the flex out.

Where did you use the velcro?

Yup, agree. But, I have to somewhat forcefully pull on it to have it flex out as much as you saw in the vid.

Obviously, it won't hurt to secure it better than how it is now, I just don't see it flappin' in the wind. Maybe the verts have some unexplained vortex going on directly under the rear bumper at highway speeds.

You better start getting into shape!

There's just something about using zip ties on a new car's body that rubs me the wrong way.

I just improved their design.

You're right, though... but since you don't/can't see it, I don't mind.

It all comes down to my wife direct connecting me that day... telling me how bad it looked. I had to do something... and this was cheap and easy. And, it works great!
