Xbox One vs PS/4

And that's probably the worst map, you should see the lighting on parcel storm.
On a side note, Ryse looks pretty sweet for console, I can feel the fps get jumpy on occasion, but overall great game so far.

You said "incredible", so I thought I'd give a point of reference. By those standards any game released from here on out is incredible.
This thread is to compare ps4 and Xbox one. Of course PC had this years ago.
When you make a claim like "This game looks incredible" for some strange reason people expect INCREDIBLE graphics, not something that looks exactly like last generation with a slight update to the lighting, which is all Black Ops and Ghost achieve on the PS4/Xbox One. They are only incredible if all you have seen are PS3/Xbox 360 graphics which are based on 8 year old PC tech.
Personally, as far as graphics goes, i feel that neither of these games look as good as Crysis 3 on the PC, and that game is almost a year old now. I have trouble with the claim that a brand new game on a brand new console that looks worse than a year old PC game has "incredible" graphics.

Crysis 3, oh she's hungry....
Throw witcher 2 on next gen and watch them melt!
While I agree pc is far superior, I don't regret buying a xbox one, aside from forza letting me down, all the titles I've picked up( nba 2k14, dead rising 3, and ryse) have all been great in one way or another. Cod on the other hand has always been crap and I'm sure they'll continue delivering the same pile of **** formula on "next-gen". Thank god I only lost $5 to it!

Give me something that works. That can provide me the most value. Xbox one and PS4 are that. I don't want to have to update a PC constantly to play my games. Therefore that's why consoles have always been for me. This coming from a 23 year old guy working as an engineer in IT.
I just prefer the simplicity. Buy it once and be done.
But I plan on getting an xbox one sometime later next year. I'll have to get it for Halo 5. Gotta see what happens!

The Xbox One and PS4 are both built using off the shelf PC tech and the games you mentioned were both built on the PC. In both cases the games still look closer to their PS3/Xbox 360 counterparts than they do a high end PC. No one can deny the convenience and ease of access that the Consoles deny. Plus, consoles are a fraction of the price of a PC and offer numerous other benefits over a PC. But this is also not a PC thread, and no one really cares.

As far as updates go, the days of 5 mb patches are over. Every new game iced installed comes with a 1.5-6gb patch day one. Then every patch I've seen since has been around 1gb. Can't remember the last time I updated anything on my pc, don't know if windows updates count, but their tiny and don't really do anything....
$500 can at the very least buy you a pc on par with the current consoles though it wouldn't be as "living room" friendly right out the gate.
Ahhh, you're one of those people stuck in the 1990s. How is gaming on a PC today any different from gaming on a console?
Both platforms have the same games. Both can use a gamepad. Both can be hooked up to your HDTV.
In fact, if you came to my house and I loaded up a multiplatform game, the ONLY way you would be able to tell if I was playing that game on one of my consoles or the PC would be if you saw me start it up. Once the game is running there is no difference at all, other than the PC having higher resolution and higher frame rates.
ROFLMAO!!!
I can certainly deny that consoles offer any more convenience than a PC. There is NOTHING you can do on a console that you cannot do on a PC and there are many things a PC can do that these consoles cannot. Can you use your console as a 4TB DVR? Can you play 3D Bluray movies on your console? How about play MKV movie files? How about post on these forums while watching a video and downloading a game all at the same time? How about something simple, like changing games without having to get up and change the disk in the drive?
I have a gaming/media center PC hooked up to my HDTV and stereo in the living room. I can play games on it just like a console, I can do ALL of the multimedia stuff that consoles can do and many things these consoles cannot do, I use it as my DVR, I can do online shopping with it, and I can stream or download content from either of the other two PCs I have in the house and use it.
Name me one thing you can do with your console that I cannot do just as easily on my PC.
As far as price goes, I would say the PC wins that. Expecially when you consider that you're going to own a PC anyways to do all of the stuff your console doesn't do, so really the only added cost to your PC is a high quality video card which costs less than a PS4 or Xbox One. Or are you going to tell me you don't already own a PC and have no intention of buying one? Even if you were to build one from the ground up, you can build a comperable PC for less than the cost of an Xbox One plus the wheel controller and Forza.
For the past 2 console generations the consoles have been working hard to become PCs. Now that they are almost identical you want to tell me that they are totally different? No son, there is almost no difference at all. The current consoles ARE PCs, they just have less functionality and are not upgradable. Remember that next time you are downloading a Windows 8 app for your Xbox One.

So kids, wives, girlfriends, people in general are doing all of their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, music downloads, Youtube movie editing and uploading, and all other common forms of Social Media on their consoles and not their PC?
Consoles are a much more casual experience and therefore have a more diversified userbase. Not to mention that there are many amazing releases that never get a PC port, just as the opposite is true .
Consoles are a much more CONTROLLED experience, nothing more. Microsoft and Sony limit what you can do, what you can access, and what you can share. I guess you can call that a "casual experience" in much the same way that an iPhone is a more casual experience than an Android phone.
As far as diversity goes, there are more Youtube users than there are console owners, and I'm pretty sure no one is recording, editing, and uploading their youtube videos on their console.
And yes, the only things that consoles can do that PCs cannot is play console exclusive games. But then again consoles cannot play PC exclusive games either, so that's pretty much a moot point.
The entire interface is centered around the user making it much more accessible to anyone. Kids, wives, girlfriends, people in General will all agree that a console is much more accessible over a PC. I will agree on the console ports, that's why I picked up one
. But moustang is right, it feels like since the beginning of time folks complain about how much more a pc is or how it's more "complicated". It's not.Sure if you build one yourself you'll have to be able to follow simple instructions, no harder than putting Legos together

Again, my point still stands that Consoles are more accessible to everyone in general. A dedicated box to playing games...
It is ridiculously easy to download movies/stream shows on a computer, but people still purchase cable/satellite and buy movies.
Lol I think everyone in this day and age can use a pc, especially windows 8 as moustang said. Smart phone, consoles, pc, it's all the same. I will agree on the console ports, that's why I picked up one
