Not to rain on your parade but I have built two houses in the past 5 years. When they tell you two weeks it's like telling you the check is in the mail. They NEVER get done on time.

Well, I have closed on 2.
One, the house my grandmother bought, they did not give us a date to close on until the day after the house was ready. A very smooth transaction.
The house I just bought, the tentative closing date was July 1st, then got projected to July 8th, and then we got a confirmed, guaranteed date of July 13th...I closed this past Friday 22nd

Y'all know me well enough........I got my close date moved from 8-30 to 8-10 by using loooooooots of sweet talk and pleading.
I have kids who are changing schools- and I am freaking homeless.

ACK being homeless and having everything betting on your house being finished in 2 weeks is freaking scary.
I do have a weeks leeway though. Fortunately. The new tenant here is going to repaint and repaper the house to his taste instead of mine and is moving in 9-1.

Now that this house is a place to sleep while my real house is being built...I keep noticing stuff......
This house was built in the 70s...
I just noticed under my bath lights- GREEN WALLPAPER
And the neighborhood- whooooooooeeeee. This poor place has went straight downhill. Junked cars, overgrown grass... :scratch: Thats the thing about Alabama..Fickleness. Whats nice this year may be a slum next year.

I sorry we all thought that you liked moving we can tell, and gee are people from New Orleans always Cool ? I helped some people on the Ferry home today and I get a page from the Chief and here they insist on buying my lunch. I was stunned so tonight I prommised the nice lady she can drive my Mustang with me there of course !
