First up?
I want an african parakeet- so I can teach it to curse. BUT its going to be a while==$$$$$$.

MONEY wise another greyhound- the fee here is $150. BUT it has to be a brindle or blue male who actually raced, and who is not timid or nuts. I adored Rhythm, and he has so far been irreplacable.(Eddie not counting, he is more like a second cat)
teach him how to cuss, teach him how to fuss and pull the cork out of a bottle of wine.....

Its above Minnesota?

Soooooooooo Before anywhere I lived, green was grass-clover, dandelion,weeds..who cared.

We have Bermuda grass now-and have become obsessed with weeding out the crabgrass. I want a golf course lawn.

I have preliminary plans to put in a wildflower garden back where the erosion is bad- may be interesting, and wildflowers help stop erosion and washing.

Yesterday I put in two Yellow Hibiscus and 3 rose bushes.

I am sooooooooo loving this.

The ONLY thing I can honestly say I don't like is the Foyer/Dining room.
In the house I built I had a dining ROOM. One way in and one way out. HERE I have two columns -meaning I cut through the dining room to the front door.
I made ALL kinds of fun of the column houses (the columns are popular) I wanted arches- BUT the trade off is I got stone floors an extra bathroom and stainless steel instead of linoleum and boring cheapo appliances.
You walk in my house- BOOM tray Ceiling with Chandelier. BOOM 12 foot ceiling in the dining room BOOM Huge Tray Ceiling in the living room... all in the open.

Eddie is not adjusting well. I am ready to give up on him. He keeps crapping on my carpet- unacceptable. :notnice: He gets walked MILES a day here also.

I solved my extra sunlight problem also(I didn't want blinds in my living room)- My Dad remodeled an old house, and salvaged the antique wooden shutters. I snatched up a pair, painted em black(from robins egg blue), fit em together and double bonus- no more peeking into my living room from behind and I can watch tv in the afternoons.

Trust me- I planned well, I bought curtains and blinds all summer, and stuck em up the day before I moved in-I didn't wanna be curtainless. Last night the new neighbors gave me a show- they haven't a crack lick of curtains in their house- I got to see an ugly man in his panties getting ready for bed.

When I moved into our new house the neighbor behind us had no window treatments either. I was lucky though, his girlfriend came out of the shower and as I was putting dishes in the sink I looked up to see a waist-up nude profile shot. Now I'm no pervert but I'll take a free show anyday. I did the dishes that night!

Or in my case- I was nearly rendered blind- that wasn't no Cosmo man over there in his panties.
I was out having a smoke- since I no longer go out back at night......I looked up and nearly tossed my dinner.

Oh my God. I have moved into snob Hades.......

I was one of the first people on this culdesac. #6 of 13 to be exact.

All the people who moved here after us SUCK SUCK SUCK! I love my house but want to put a hex on most of my neighbors.

I knew when we moved here it was under construction and we would have to deal with dust and bulldozers and smoke for a while. Big deal. More houses make higher property values......
My one idiot neighbor (whose yard looks like the trashiest trailer in the park with its utility trailer and dead trees) complaining about our friends house cause it has a flush garage instead of one that sticks out. The snooty St. Clair County witch who thinks shes the designee... because she has a split level and we all have slabs. The hillbillies who think my kids have to be their best friends " or they will tell their Mom my kids won't be their friend" The idiot next door who builds his Apartment complex of a storage building at 7 am on weekends......The Childless A-hole at the end of the street who complains about the busstop being on the corner......

Can you believe the birmingham news came to the door yesterday because they are doing a story on PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE CONSTRUCTION AND SMOKE HERE? Idiots. They knew what was going on when they moved out here.
