I am honest to god Packing my stuff in liquor boxes- theyre free and sturdy.

Criminy.I just got my closing costs........CRAPOLA!
It just occured to me my kids have no idea where we live. We changed houses while they were having time at my parents house.
Anyone need some assorted junk? I am done packing the good stuff- all that remains is the WTF did I keep this for stuff and the kitchen. And the PS2 and boring stuff.
Moving commences at 4PM Friday.

How do you even find the time to come on here and post??? I know when we built our home and was moving, I didnt have time to stop and eat, much less come on the computer.
REMEMBER: Bigger the house, more to clean....
Jessica, it may be better to look into buying a 'get away' home for someone in the north to use. Some where near a beach, (or in the country).... Not necessarily in Alabama. In fact, homes may cost a bit more near the Gulf Coast (biloxi area) but they would be easy to sell/ rent, because of the high number of visitors there. Biloxi area has boomed with casinos, so many people go there.
Just a thought......

I gotta rest sometimes! and Believe me, between running around all day- and not being able to sleep at night, I am running on empty and caffiene. One of these days VERY soon I am going to crash and sleep for 72 hours.
And remember- I am no longer Building a house, I got impatient/pissed off at the builder and bought another one which is already complete. Someone else will get the custom designed one I made, I moved into a spec house.
What else this house has taught me:
"stuff" and keeping up appearances is not so important. Having somewhere to live is what I should have been shooting for-and not to worry so much about new STUFF to put in it. I have things that were perfectly acceptable 3 months ago-theres no reason it shouldn't be now.

And If you are looking for "investment" property- southern beaches and Condos would be a hot property-anywhere along the gulf coast. Everyone needs a beach retreat-and are willing to pay for it.
I have a friend who makes a living renting out beach houses the owners are not using- at 2 grand plus a week. Lucky SOB.

Whoa, I missed some post. You didn't take the one you had built?? What the heck? I know it was taking awhile and you were in limbo but I'm still surprised. How do you like the new place??

The builder kept the leftover vaseline......
The builder put my stuff in another house. He effectively delayed construction by a month being a hiney.
So I told him where he could stuff it, went to my realtor and signed a contract on a bigger lot in another section of the development.
Same house, with more baths, more rooms and a 3x bigger lot. Also- construction is completed here, no more messy muddy eleanor.

The kid goes to school, everything normal. The kid comes home, the whole house is empty.
I don't remember why, but some agency got the parents out in a hurry. Probably witness re-location.

Oh, that stinks about the house but I can see why you did it. Good Luck and just wait for that first time you get to relax........you'll smile, have a drink (or 6) and say it was all worth it.
