nice. I had no idea cowboys inhabited Alabama too and built houses.

Congratulations. It looks like yours will be a very nice house.

Just out of curiosity, how long has it been since you signed the dotted line?

The reason I'm asking is because I have a house under construction in Florida and it has been twenty two months already since I signed the contract. It seems like it never will get finished, and no, it's not a megamansion, just a reguar house. I can really empathize with all the folks on this forum waiting and waiting for their cars, but for us, it’s a house....

I don't care who they are as long as they get my house built-Preferably by 8/1 because school starts here 8/8.

me neither
I would live under an overpass before I would live in one of those. :notnice: :notnice:
Confession: During my time in the country phase, I bought a cheap one to live in until I built my castle(but it turns out I moved back home and moved into suburbia instead)- I gave it to my aunt. Hated it so much- I now let her live in it almost free, and I make the payments on it.

The house pics are beautiful! There's creative ways to get past being so close to the neighbors - fencing, landscaping, etc. so I wouldn't worry about that. Sounds like it's just the right thing at the right time for you.

Like in my case, it's just about the right time I own a mustang! Got my financing all set, so when that pony arrives, hopefully by end of next week, I'm all set! Been running around like crazy getting things set up, but it's all good!

I can't buy even a toothpick on credit between now and August. Uhoh. Not that I buy anything but cars on Credit anyhow- and I have Ellie and the Alero.

My Dad is building me a fence, and screening in the back porch. Fortunately he's a contractor so I can get past their Pesky HOA contractor only rules. He gives the house his stamp of approval. Its built right.

All of my plants I put in this season, I potted in case I moved. Fortunately everything is perennial . I have big plans for the sidewalk. I have bigger plans for the backyard.

I am aquiring a kitten and my hubby is getting a Doberman for Christmas. I promised him if I got this house, he would get his dobie. Eddie(my JRT puppy) will finally have free reign of the house- my Stupid landlord won't allow him upstairs.

I can NOT wait to go pick out my appliances, and floor and paint!!!! I am getting a greeny whitish paint called Spiderweb for the living rooms and kitchen .
I am thinking of going terra cotta for the Bedroom and baths, and I will need purplse paint for my daughters room(my expense) I must have Berber carpet..its my one indulgence. I adore Berber Carpet.
My fireplace is gas, and I am getting black marble for it- I have black and pine furniture. My office is getting done in black and silver. Odd, my hubby collects get this- grim reapers. Our desks are black, and we are getting a black sleeper couch.
My Sons Room I am redoing in blue with a beach theme- Lemme show you the lights I picked out:

I have a condo in orlando. Heck with the rapidly raising real estate prices in FL, you could probably sell already and reap a tidy profit and buy an existing home. The home you contracted for 22 months ago has to have increased by 25-35% since then.

I signed the contract last Thursday. Alabama Law is 120 days from the signing of the contract must be the move in date-IF you buy a lot, and provided no acts of God hold construction up. Fortunately I found a house that had been framed up and had a foundation and roof already. I will close either 8/1 or 8/30 depending on if the builder keeps his word and hustles on my house to get it done quick.

Black and red throwaway kids couch..(Its the one I don't care if crap gets spilled on, lives in my office with the kids tv and the playstations and stuff)
