Hahahha, warrenty schmarrenty...... I can't speak for everyone but I knew dang well what I was getting myself into when adding mods. I can say that I had alot of mods done (BEFORE THE BLOWER) and still had warranty work performed- but I really was expecting them to deny it. My car has not been back to the dealer since the blower install and unless it's some kind of weird electronic problem, I don't plan on taking it back. I would bet that they'd deny a power window motor failure because I'm blown now.
By the way to answer your original question, I drove mine for 2 winters but now I pretty much won't drive it in the snow- it's a handful on wet surfaces. Mine is an '06 bought in late August of 05 and just turned 16k miles.

So I take it that the mods you have done to your suspension don't help with traction in slippery conditions, but only on dry pavement. I was curious what you guys have to do to correct your speedometer after installing a different gear ratio. I used to do alot of work on cars back in the late '70's and early '80's before I got married and had three kids. Only one left in the nest though. Maybe I'll be able to get back into it in the near future. I haven't keep up with most of the new technology. When I was a hot rodder it was either point controlled and electronic ignition, which tells you how long ago that was.

Then we go to awesome local Indiana tuners such as www.brenspeed.com for custom dyno tunes!
[quote=tom281;1087497]That's correct, my suspension mods are for 2 things: dry pavement, and looks..... As far as gearing, we all have hand-held tuners that you plug into the OBD2 port and adjust for proper rear gearing and tire size; as well as timing, fuel ratios, rev limiters, etc. The equipment, etc. is usually SCT software- www.sctflash.com

So the dyno tune basically consists of software/computer adjustments?

Yup The quickest and fastest way to get instant HP is to due a CAI (Cold Air Induction) and Tune (with a handheld tuner) ..cost is around $500 to $600 and you gain around 20 to 30 hp. A dyno tune will cost an extra 200 or more and it will fine tune your computer.

Yes, that's correct. As dly mentioned, you can gain ~30 rwhp with just a cold air kit and computer tuning.

I wouldn't want it any other way.
My car is currently parked inside and covered. I'm doing a few mods to it while it sits to minimize down time when I want to drive it during the summer. I might continue to drive the Escort to work and back if gas prices keep rising.

Hey Robert,
Well if you were in high school back when that car came out we must be about the same age. I will be 54 on Feb 28.
And I just fell in love with those cars back than but could only afford a used VW Bug.
She is a 1970 Mach 1 with a 351 Cleveland and auto trans. It has every possible option offered back than including AC. (That still works) It is completely restored and is completely stock with the exception of the tires, cam and mufflers. Not sure about horsepower but with the cam that is it her it really give meaning to "shaker hood" if you know what I mean. She would give my 05 a run for her money. I did not do the restoration but the guy that did owned a body shop and did just an outstanding job of her. I wish I could afford a couple more of them. They are better than money in any bank. I have owned her for 5 yrs and bought her for $24,500 and she was just appraised at $42,500.00. If only she had a 428 in her than she be worth twice that. Needless to say she only comes out on sunny days. Believe this or not I have never washed this car. Only a California duster and Mequires quick detailer and back under the car cover.Scott

Ford Claims Ownership of Your Pictures
Mike Rogers writes "In a move that can only be described as 'Copyright Insanity', Ford Motor Company now claims that they hold the rights to any image of a Ford vehicle, even if it's a picture you took of your own car. The Black Mustang Club wanted to put together a calendar featuring member's cars and print it through CafePress, but an attorney from Ford nixed the project, stating that the calendar pics and 'anything with one of (member's) cars in it infringes on Ford's trademarks which include the use of images of their vehicles.' Does Ford have the right to prevent you from printing images of a car you own?"

Sounds real nice. I am 49, graduated in 1976. Back then I had a '70 Camaro which I would love to still have. I had many friends back then that had late '60's early '70's Mustangs. That was the era, pre emissions, only a PCV valve and all engine under the hood.

I'm afraid those days are gone for good. Barrett-Jackson startes tonight thru Sunday. Can't wait to see some neat Stangs go up for sale. Those people and their money are on a whole different plateau out there.
