Scott
So what is the max. rpms that you have taken it to in 4th and 5th gear? Also for those of you who have an automatic am I safe in assuming that in the 1/4 mile you never go past 4th gear.
Robert

Well my car still has the stock rear end of 3:31 and I have only ran the car on country roads for 1/4 using a G tech monitor. But my car shifts into 4th at the 1/4 mile mark. So I think my rpm would only be around 3500-4000 at that point.

Thanks Scott,
I'd especially would like to hear from anyone who is running with 4:10 gears. What is your max. rpms is each gear 1st-5th.
Thanks,
Robert

Hey Darrell, I've been around- just busy. Going out of town this afternoon- actually heading up to Robert's state of Michigan.

Robert I have 4.10s with the manual trans. I don't go to redline in 5th but I've been to 6500 rpm in fourth which is around 120 mph. I have not gone that high since I installed the shaft. I have gone to ~6200 in 2nd, and 3rd gear with the shaft.

Thanks Tom,
So do you consider 6500 to be redline for your engine? Also when doing the 1/4 mile you never get out of 4th gear correct? Where are you going in Michigan today?
Robert

yes I consider it to be 6500. In the 1/4 mile, I'm almost right at 6500 in 4th gear when I cross the line- my last time slip was 118mph. I am going to Grand Rapids to visit a potential customer.

Thanks Tom,
Enjoy your day in Michigan. Watch out for potholes and carjackers, both are rampant in our state.

You can be the test mule to see how much HP before you blow your engine. Then I'll know when to stop before I blow mine.
