Well...I still have a wet rear end.
Didn't get my new pinion flange tonight and have not received any new email from Spyder7724 whether or not if he shipped the flange or not. So I decided to call him because I don't want to take the car in to get repaired until I have all of the parts on hand if I need them. Ron was cool. I guess he had his wife ship it out on Tuesday but was not sure how it was shipped. He said he had to make up 60 driveshafts today
and has not had time to return me emails. Hopefully it will get here tommorow!

Big Dog ?....
You've been looking in my window at night? Scott

You've been looking in my window at night?
If I have done any damage to the stock gears. Than yes I will. I will go with 3:73's. But Larry and I only drove a couple of hundred yards up to maybe 35 mph before I turned around and limped back home. I don't think I hurt anything. I will have them replace the pinion seal, rear end lube and check everything else to see if I screwed up. I will let you know.
If you want pics of the big dog just send me your home email address. :-)

Secret agent man...... The shaft is installed but I haven't driven the car yet- my son's Xmas program was cancelled last month due to snow and tonight was the make up date. I may try to go out yet tonight for a test drive. Other than that, I've been real busy tonight talking to my "cousin" about a couple of things..... one of which you all will see very soon- the other may be a couple months yet.

Well a quick test drive shows the shaft having noticeable vibration as I get around 80mph, and very noticeable at speeds approaching 100mph.
It may be the pinion angle, which I'm unsure how to check and will start reading up on it I guess.
UPDATE 1/11/08: my problem was an install problem..... we're all good now!

! brush up on your math!!.....Are you as smart as a 5th grader!.....
You need a magentic angle reader... I can't remember the proper numbers but I think it needs to be -2 or -3 degrees

or have counsin Brent fix it.

Hey Tom,
Sorry to hear you are having a problem. I am curious about how the adaptor is made. Does it have a locating hubs on it to locate good on the pinion flange and the driveshaft? Or does it just rely on the screws to put it on center and run true?

It has locating hubs to center the shaft.... the shaft and adaptor both appear to be very high quality and the guys at Shaftmaster were great to deal with overall..... just gotta figure out why I have the vibration.
UPDATE: figured it out LOL....!

I am not trying to be a smart arze but I thought that was the advantage of a 4" dia driveshaft. Less harmonics going on. I think!
