While you two duke it out i'll be reading my time slip and sipping a cold one wondering what took you two so long. HEHE. Oh and with P zeros. At least at the next outing.

SO I finished the install of the TRI-AX and let me tell you this mod is a royal PITA!!! If you plan on doing this get ready for some frustration. Very tight confines under there and to make matters worse the new shifter is much beefier than the POS stocker si it makes for lots of swearing and knuckle banging. But after all is said and done you cant believe the difference in the shortness of the throws. I would almost say that it cut the throw in half. Much firmer, solid and the third gear centering spring is the champ!

Age will not be a factor. I agree with Dave, if you are old enough to drive then you can be a member.

In knowing your age, it might stand to reason why Will said he would chrage you 1000 for buying and installing gears. Sometimes car guys think they can overcharge someone young. I had it happen to me when I was your age and driving my 1967 mustang.

We don't go out every week, that would be foolish and stupid. Racing can tear your car up. Some of us drive ours daily so dragging it every week is bad. We will be out as a club on Friday, March 30 for Test and Tune.

Chris, Tulsa Raceway Park is located just off of highway 169 Between Pine and 36th st. North. 6pm on the 30th. Hope to see you there! $15 to race $10 to watch. If you plan on racing make sure to review the rules if it's your first time. Check their website for info or just ask here we can help with what you will need to know.

I think your hypothesis on my rear springs is correct. I think I am sitting at a slight rearward angle and my springs are already loaded up. When I go to launch I try to load springs that are already loaded. Paul and I will be changing the fronts out hopefully before March 30 so I can launch properly.

I love it. Soooooooo much better than stock. Smooth and very short throw. I really cant believe the difference in the throw. I swear it's like half the throw of the stock one.

Have you asked anyone else about the spring theory? I think that it might make sense but the only way to know for sure is to change the front. I guess you'll know soon enough.

No I haven't asked anyone. Just done some reading on the issue and it makes sense.

Is the Tri-Ax very loud? I have heard some of the aftermarket shifters are loud. I am considering the Pro 5.0 myself soon. I want a slightly tighter shifter than what the adaptor affords.

It dosen't make any extra noise other than you can hear the positive engagement on the shift. It reminds me of the old Hurst.. When you engage the gear you get a very slight click type sound. I am partial to the sound. If you have a passenger they can really tell you have something special under the shift boot.
