I've painted most of the components so far. The only thing I have left is the body which is turning into a pain. If anyone is looking to paint theirs Redfire, Testors "red metal flake" spray can enamel is a spot on match. I tried using the candy apple red transparent/silver metal flake combo at walmart and it came out looking like complete crap.

Testor's "red metal flake" enamel model spray is the exact same as Redfire. If it isn't exactly the same, pretty sure it's as close as you're going to get.

I just bought mine today with all the paints. I ordered it so I have to wait for it to arrive next week.

Can anyone make a scale Texas plate I can print out to use on it?

Thanks, but all I did was hand it to the guy behind the counter and told him to keep reducing until it was an inch wide.

I was mostly referring to the model itself

Thanks Kluski, I nearly popped a blood vessel in my head

I told my wife about the web site posted earlier to make plates. She said; "Why don't you take a picture of your own plate and reduce it yourself."
But by then I already made one on that site.
here's one I did years ago of my old Mustang LX 5.0 convertible. I started with a GT kit...so you can imagine all the work that went into it.
Note window sticker and dealer plate! I got the 10 hole wheels from a resin kit company.

Okay Tim, where did you get the window sticker and dealer plate from? Did you take both to Kinko's like everyone has been saying to do? And how small does the plate and window sticker have to be? The model looks REAL GOOD.

As for the size, simply take the measurements and divide by 25. (1:25 scale)
A window sticker is 11" x 9.625" so that would be 0.44" x 0.385"
A license plate (in Alabama) is 12" x 6" so that would be 0.48" x 0.24".
alright I'm about 80% done my model. I got some spots on the roof that I don't like, plus a piece of dust dried into the paint. I'll let it cure a day, then I'll wet sand it and give the roof one last spray. I have the engine compartment and interior all pained and assembled to look just like my car.
One question for you guys. The model comes with the 17" machined wheels pre-painted in chrome. I think it would look more authentic to paint them metallic silver. What do you guys think? Ah screw it, I'm gonna do it anyway.
edited to add: Alright I gave em a spray of metallic silver, looks way better, not as "loud" as chrome
