Thanks guys! Kinda scarey to buy an new part, take it outta the box and then sand and paint on it. I even had my three daughters helping tonight. I was hoping that the red and black would not be to over the top. But I like the way it has turned out so far. Not sure where to go next? I hear that Ford is releasing some chrome covers soon... But until then, maybe some chrome in there somewhere...

Thanks Ponygirl! That mean a lot coming from you... the "Engine Bay Queen!" I removed them and sanded them down prior to painting. Ford Racing is planning on releasing a chrome cover set this summer. We are all wondering what style and the asking price... still unknown at this time though.

I plan on adding some chrome accents to the bay, ust not sure where to start yet. Still thinking of using some metal sleeving on most of the wiring / hoses. Some anodized sleeving in red and blue would look really sharp too, but it may cost a bit much.

I installed my cover last night, and my '99-'04 running pony galloped into my mailbox today. This cover is sweeeet! Like other people have posted, it's excellent quality!

Nope!

Just the rear / firewall side bolts are a little difficult to remove. Just make sure that the engine is cool. Me... I had to dig right into the thing, got more burns than cuts this time around...

Thanks to PonyGirl and Swingle007 for pointing me in the right direction as to where to get this cover. I really like how the cover came out, painted lettering and all, but I'm not sure I'd have ordered this thing if I wasn't online and drunk.

Where on earth did you find the stainless mesh for the tubing? I have been looking everywhere and have not had any luck yet!

A local speed shop carries the complete Aeroquip product line.

Russell also has an excellent selection.

At the risk of sounding really lazy... do you have an idea on the sizes and lengths that I would be looking at? What sort of cost was incurred for what you are currently using? I see 7 lines including the three on the fuel line with the "T". I guess I should go outside and do a count then look at the lengths and diameters of each. Thanks for the links by thw ay. Great stuff and it looks fantastic on yours...

Just FYI - that is not mesh - that is stainless steel braided hose. The hose to the fuel pressure regulator is #4, the vacuum & vapor vent hoses are #6, and the large hose on the valve cover is #10. Total cost was about $150.00.

Todd that looks fantastic!
I went a similar route that Todd did, however I used a less expensive brand of hose. They're not the kind that slips on over your stock hose, but a hose replacement. I used Spectre Performance 3/8" for the 2 PCV/intake vaccum, and 5/16" for the small fuel vacuum line. The radiator overflow and brake vacuum are also 3/8". Very easy to install. Go to www.spectreperformance.com and check it out. You can get the stuff at Pepboys and Autozone.

Just curious, has anyone experienced any problems w/ the intake covers?
I know somewhere it was mentioned that they might prevent air from cooling the intakes or somethign along that line.

I love what Todd and Dave have done under the hood. I think those steel braided hose really do wonders to the engine compartment. A BIG to you guys.
