Hey Kirk, great job on the plenum cover. I plan on doing the same thing in general once I get my car. I want to paint the ribs white, but leave the center line the color of the car, sort of a shelby striped cover, to match the exterior. Question, what paint did you use to do this, did you so some sanding first, and is the red cleared? Much appreicated if you can be appreciated.
I sanded to prepare the surface before I did anything. 1000 and 1500 grit. Then washed, dried and taped off the ribs. Using pinstriping would be easier, but I never thought of that. I used masking tape, a razor and a cutting board. I used Ford Red Engine Enamel #1605 and some High temp clear coat as well.

A coat of red... dry time... sanded and another coat... repeated again for three coats total. Then a few coats of clear over top.

Where is everybody getting the Powered by Ford decals? I've searched the whole net for them.
Any vynal shop can do em. Thats who did mine.......cost me $10.00. I think just about everyone is having them custom made at vynal lettering shops.

Hireman, I think yours makes everybody looks like 3rd graders got ahold of a plenum.

Question, I live near Macon, Ga. If I was to drive up to you with a plenum, can you airbrush me a black/sonic blue theme like that?

Thanks for the interest,
I have started a thread for these at http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=38240
there is some early pricing info there for those who already have painted covers .

What is the best way to attach the pony emblem. It is hollow on the back, so there isn't much too glue to. Do you drill the cover and attach with the supplied retainers? Are their any interference issues with the plenum underneath?
