well, took my car in for the airbag recall today. they drove the car up to me and i went home. when i got out of the car, i noticed my key was broken too. it was at a 45 degree angle. the metal part came right off. not sure how it broke, but anyways, i 2 ton epoxy'ed it and i am just waiting for it to cure now.

apparently, there is a design flaw with these keys.

My uncut key from ebay also had a couple a scratches on them. I'm guessing that someone's getting these quality rejected keys and throws them up on ebay.

Also, Home Depot cut mine, no problem.

You can get these keys from any wrecker yard. You just have to have the new key blank. That is what I can not find.

Can some one with the Fusion Key please open it up (and take pics) and then we can see if we can swap the internals of the Fusion Key with a regular key fob.

I have a 2005 Mustang and would love to have the new key for my ride.

The feeling of panic when it happened ran through me. It happened at work which is 25 miles from home and I had to make 2 stops on the way home. I wasn't sure if I would be able to start the car again so I narrowed it down to just stopping at the ATM and left it running.

To top it off, last night I washed my keys to the original fob went through the wash. ARRRGH!! Luckily it worked today after it dried.

This was one of off eBay. It looked new from the outside, but now that it's opened, if i try to fit the key back into it there is no way it will fit flush. No epoxy anywhere, maybe super glue? No residue of anything so unless I see the insides of an original, it's hard to know if it's original or not.

denlem thanks for the pics,

im guessing there wont be a way for 05-06 users to enjoy the new keys,, the internals seem much smaller on the new key.
